This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Security Automation Engineer (Python) based in the United States.

This role offers an opportunity to design and deliver advanced security automation solutions within a fast-paced technology environment. The position focuses on building scalable automation frameworks, cloud-based integrations, and AI-enhanced workflows that strengthen security operations and improve efficiency. You will work at the intersection of software engineering, cybersecurity, and cloud infrastructure, helping teams reduce manual processes and respond faster to security challenges. By developing production-grade solutions and integrating enterprise security platforms, you will contribute to more resilient and intelligent security ecosystems. Accountabilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain Python-based automation solutions, data pipelines, API integrations, workflow orchestration tools, and reporting capabilities that support security and cloud operations.
  • Build integrations between enterprise security platforms, including application security tools, SIEM solutions, cloud security platforms, governance systems, IT service management platforms, secrets management tools, and ticketing systems through REST APIs.
  • Develop AI-assisted security workflows that automate vulnerability finding analysis, classification, prioritization, routing, and reporting processes to improve operational efficiency.
  • Implement and support cloud-native automation solutions using AWS services such as Lambda, ECS/Fargate, S3, IAM, and API Gateway.
  • Improve existing automation frameworks through code optimization, testing, documentation, CI/CD improvements, and Infrastructure as Code best practices.
  • Collaborate with security, engineering, IT, and business stakeholders to translate technical requirements into reliable, scalable, and maintainable software solutions.
  • Contribute to secure development practices by identifying opportunities to enhance automation quality, system reliability, and security operations maturity.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional experience developing production-grade Python applications, automation frameworks, data pipelines, API integrations, and data processing solutions.
  • Strong expertise in Python development with experience handling structured data formats including JSON, CSV, XML, YAML, and related technologies.
  • Hands-on experience working with REST APIs, including authentication methods, token-based access, pagination, rate limiting, retry mechanisms, and enterprise system integrations.
  • Proven experience with AWS cloud services, including Lambda, ECS/Fargate, S3, IAM, API Gateway, cloud networking, and cloud security best practices.
  • Strong knowledge of Terraform, Git, and GitHub Actions CI/CD workflows, including Infrastructure as Code, automated deployments, testing, code reviews, and collaborative development practices.
  • Understanding of application and cloud security concepts, including OWASP Top 10, secure coding principles, vulnerability management, identity and access management, network security, and cloud security posture management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with experience working in security operations, IT operations, or enterprise-scale technology environments.
