At Bendigo Kangan Institute, we're transforming the way learners are recognised, assessed and supported through innovative technology. We're looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of our flagship AI Recognition of Prior Learning (AI RPL) project, driving meaningful change that will improve learner experiences and outcomes across the organisation.

The Opportunity

As our Senior Project Manager, you will take ownership of a complex and strategic AI-enabled transformation project, guiding it from planning through to successful implementation and benefits realisation. Working closely with Executives, Directors, business leaders, technology partners and external vendors, you'll navigate a dynamic stakeholder environment, influence key decisions and ensure project outcomes are delivered on time, within scope and on budget. You will play a critical role in introducing innovative, data-driven solutions that will shape the future of recognition and assessment within the VET sector.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead the delivery of a high-profile AI and digital transformation project
  • Build trusted relationships with Executives, Directors and key stakeholders
  • Drive project governance, reporting, risk management and decision-making
  • Translate business needs into practical technology solutions
  • Lead stakeholder engagement, consultation and change management activities
  • Manage competing priorities and resolve complex issues and risks
  • Develop business cases and lead technology procurement activities
  • Oversee RFI, RFQ and RFP processes, vendor selection and contract negotiations
  • Manage external technology partners and suppliers to achieve project outcomes
  • Ensure successful adoption of new processes, systems and ways of working

About You

You are a highly credible project leader with a track record of delivering complex technology or transformation initiatives in large organisations.

You'll bring:

  • Significant experience delivering strategic projects involving Executive-level stakeholders
  • Strong experience in technology, digital transformation, data or AI-related projects
  • Expertise in project delivery using Agile and Waterfall methodologies
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement, communication and influencing skills
  • Demonstrated experience leading technology procurement and vendor management activities
  • Strong commercial acumen and contract management capability
  • The ability to navigate ambiguity and drive outcomes in complex environments
  • Experience within the tertiary education, training or VET sector is highly regarded
