Primary Purpose:

The Business Systems Analyst supports the administration and ongoing enhancement of Oracle EPM and Oracle Fusion ERP applications. This role partners with Finance and other business teams to gather and document business requirements, support system improvements, and help deliver solutions that improve automation, accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency.

The Business Systems Analyst serves as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, assisting with the support, maintenance, and implementation of Oracle-based business solutions. This role serves as a key partner to Finance in supporting financial reporting, planning, close, and reconciliation processes through effective use of Oracle ERP and EPM technologies.

Responsibilities

Essential duties and responsibilities:

General:

  • Develop and maintain working knowledge of Oracle EPM modules, including FCCS, PBCS, ARCS, and EDM.
  • Develop and maintain working knowledge of Oracle Fusion ERP modules including General Ledger, Cash Management, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, Projects, and Expense.
  • Gather, document, and analyze business requirements for system enhancements, reporting needs, and process improvements.
  • Assist in translating business requirements into system solutions and communicating technical concepts in a user-friendly manner.
  • Build effective working relationships with business stakeholders, process owners, system users, and IT partners.
  • Support the prioritization and tracking of system enhancements, issues, and change requests.
  • Identify opportunities to improve business processes, data quality, reporting, and automation.
  • Assist with ongoing optimization and support of Oracle Fusion ERP and EPM applications.

Oracle EPM Administration:

  • Support the administration and maintenance of Oracle EPM applications.
  • Monitor scheduled data integration processes and investigate issues as needed.
  • Provision and maintain user access and security within EPM applications following established procedures.
  • Provide first-level support for system issues and coordinate escalation to Oracle or external consultants when appropriate.
  • Assist with configuration activities including reports, reconciliations, security settings, and workflow processes.
  • Support data quality initiatives, including validation, mappings, and reconciliation activities.
  • Assist with testing and validation of system updates, patches, and enhancements.
  • Document issues, resolutions, and system procedures.

System Enhancements and Projects:

  • Work with business stakeholders, IT teams, developers, and consultants to support system improvements and implementations.
  • Assist with requirements gathering, solution design reviews, and configuration testing.
  • Prepare and execute test scripts and scenarios supporting user acceptance testing.
  • Assist with development of EPM reports as needed.
  • Track and communicate project tasks, issues, and action items.
  • Participate in reviewing Oracle product updates and identifying potential business impacts.
  • Provide post-implementation support and assist users with system-related questions and issues.

Documentation and Training:

  • Assist with the development and maintenance of process documentation, training materials, and user guides.
  • Document business processes, system workflows, and requirements as needed.
  • Support end-user training sessions and knowledge-sharing activities.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, procedures, and controls.
  • Promote adherence to internal controls, policies, and compliance requirements.

Other:

  • Other daily, weekly, monthly or special project duties as identified and defined.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or Information Systems.

Experience/Specific Knowledge:

  • 2-5 years of experience supporting Oracle financial systems, including Oracle Fusion ERP, Oracle Fusion EPM, Oracle EBS Financials, Hyperion, or related Oracle technologies.
  • Oracle Fusion ERP and Oracle Fusion EPM experience are strongly preferred.
  • Experience supporting Oracle Fusion Cloud implementations, upgrades, enhancements, or ongoing administration preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to gather business requirements, document processes, support testing activities, and troubleshoot system issues.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including SharePoint.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple assignments, work independently and collaboratively, and learn new technologies and business processes quickly.

Certifications, Licenses & Registrations:

  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers (for travel).

Above the minimum requirements; not required but advantageous in this position:

  • Completion of Oracle University certification courses or related Oracle certifications.
  • Energy industry experience and familiarity with FERC reporting requirements.
  • Experience supporting financial close, planning, budgeting, consolidation, account reconciliation, or financial reporting processes.
  • Experience with system testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), and end-user training.

Compensation:

  • The annual salary range for this position will be $90,000-$100,000/yr.
