Job Title: Financial Aid Analyst
Department: Office of Financial Aid
Grade: 12
Basic Functions: Works under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Financial Aid. Responsible for obtaining, processing, validating and storing student financial aid information accurately and according to the rules and regulations set forth by AUB policies and procedures. This position coordinates, prepares, compiles, validates, and maintains data for the various financial aid programs. May design, coordinate and conduct financial aid workshops, information sessions and random home visits to small groups whenever needed. Works with a diverse student/parent population delivering quality customer service to all.
1. Duties Performed:
- Evaluates financial aid application records for appropriate information and supporting documents. Performs verification of information, obtains/reviews confidential information relating to student enrollment, grades, high school test scores, income tax information and other eligibility factors associated with awarding financial aid to students. Investigates financial aid applications using social media.
- Reviews and ensures that all incoming documents (via fax, mail, email or in person) received for verification are complete and accurate. Requests additional information for incomplete applications. Verifies and validates all documentation that is submitted on the scanning and document keeping system Laserfiche.
- Conducts financial aid data entry on the Banner system and ensures that all documents are logged into the students accounts daily, prior to forwarding documentation to scanning.
- May design, coordinate and participate in conducting financial aid workshops, information sessions and random home visits to small groups as requested.
- Runs queries, assists with research, creates and maintains statistical/narrative reports & spreadsheets.
- Keeps abreast of all rules, regulations and guidelines governing various types of financial aid.
- Performs other similar or related duties in the office as needs arise.

Regular contacts with immediate Manager.

Reports to the Assistant Director of Financial Aid.

7. Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree preferably in business or a related field from an accredited university.
- Three years of relatable professional experience preferably in financial aid and/or in a higher education setting; with an understanding of higher education settings.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and database operations.
- Ability to deliver quality customer service to a diverse student population.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing to a culturally and ethnically diverse population.
- Ability to communicate effectively one-on-one and in large group settings.
- Ability to prioritize work and multi-task while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality.
