Description

Position Summary

Kinematics is seeking a hands-on System Administrator to serve as the primary technical resource for the Phoenix and

Nogales facilities. This role is responsible for the day-to-day operation, support, and administration of local IT

infrastructure, workplace technologies, and end-user services.

The System Administrator combines infrastructure administration with responsive user support. The role manages

incidents and service requests, performs system maintenance and operational troubleshooting, coordinates with

vendors, and supports technology deployments and continuous improvement initiatives. Working closely with local

users, manufacturing teams, vendors, and the global IT organization, this position helps maintain reliable and secure

technology services aligned with business needs.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and support Microsoft 365, Windows Server, Active Directory, and Microsoft Entra ID environments, including

user access, groups, permissions, and routine platform administration.

  • Monitor the availability, health, capacity, and performance of local infrastructure; investigate alerts and resolve or

escalate issues based on business impact.

  • Support network infrastructure and connectivity, including TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching, VPNs, wireless networks,

and firewall-related troubleshooting.

  • Operate and monitor backup and recovery solutions, including Veeam; validate scheduled jobs, investigate failures, and

support recovery activities and disaster recovery readiness.

  • Provide end-user support for desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, peripherals, collaboration tools, and business

applications.

  • Manage the endpoint lifecycle, including provisioning, configuration, patching, software deployment, asset tracking,

refresh, and secure retirement.

  • Own local incidents and service requests from intake through resolution, maintaining accurate ticket documentation,

status updates, and timely escalation when needed.

  • Perform preventive maintenance, system updates, patching, configuration changes, and operational checks in

accordance with global IT standards and change controls.

  • Support manufacturing and facility technologies in partnership with business teams, equipment vendors, and the global

IT organization.

  • Coordinate third-party vendors and service providers for on-site support, installations, repairs, telecommunications, and

infrastructure services.

  • Maintain current technical documentation, asset records, support procedures, network information, and recovery

instructions.

  • Participate in infrastructure improvements, site deployments, security initiatives, technology refreshes, and other global

or regional IT projects.

  • Promote secure computing practices and promptly escalate potential cybersecurity, data protection, or service

continuity concerns.

Required Work Experience

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in system administration, infrastructure support, or a comparable hands-on IT operations role; 5-10 years preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting Microsoft 365, Windows Server, Active Directory, and Microsoft Entra ID in a business environment.
  • Practical experience troubleshooting LAN, WAN, wireless, VPN, switching, firewall, and general connectivity issues.
  • Experience with infrastructure monitoring, alerting, backup, recovery, endpoint administration, and operational incident response.
  • Experience providing end-user support and managing workplace technology across the device lifecycle.
  • Experience working with technical vendors and coordinating on-site service delivery.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing, distribution, industrial, or multi-site environments is preferred.

Education and Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent relevant

experience and technical training will also be considered.

  • Microsoft, CompTIA, Cisco, Veeam, ITIL, or comparable infrastructure and service management certifications are

preferred.

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to work on site in Phoenix and provide support to the Nogales facility, including periodic travel based on business needs.
  • Ability to participate in scheduled maintenance or urgent support outside normal business hours when required.
  • Ability to manage work independently while operating as part of a global IT organization.
  • Professional English communication skills; Spanish-language capability is a plus for supporting a cross-border, multi-site user community.
