How you'll make an impact in this role
- Execute High-Impact Perioperative Analytics: Analyze and report on critical surgical performance metrics—including OR utilization, block time efficiency, first case on-time starts (FCOTS), turnover times, surgical volume trends, and case mix index—to drive data-driven operational decisions.
- Lead Specialized Revenue Integrity Operations: Conduct comprehensive charge capture reviews specifically for Cath Lab and procedural services, diagnosing billing discrepancies, tracking leakage, and delivering recommended corrective actions.
- Architect Data Dashboards & Predictive Reports: Build, deploy, and maintain advanced visual dashboards and performance reports utilizing Microsoft Excel, Tableau, and Discern Analytics.
- Partner with Clinical & Operational Leadership: Collaborate directly with Perioperative Services executives, Quality and Safety teams, and medical directors to translate highly complex data into actionable workflows that improve throughput and patient outcomes.
- Optimize the Charge Description Master (CDM): Partner closely with CDM management teams to support the maintenance, audit accuracy, and structural optimization of frontline charge capture workflows.
- Master Complex EHR Data Mining: Extract, synthesize, and interpret raw data from electronic health record (EHR) systems (Cerner/Epic) to uncover hidden trends, operational bottlenecks, and missing revenue opportunities.
- Serve as an Institutional Subject Matter Expert: Act as the central consultative resource for revenue integrity, operational efficiency metrics, and technical data analytics across clinical departments.
What minimum qualifications you'll need
Education:
- High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate'sdegree/Bachelor's degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
What additional requirements you'll need
- Procedural Healthcare Acumen: Proven experience working inside a hospital, perioperative, or procedural services environment (e.g., Cath Lab, Surgery Departments).
- Advanced Healthcare Data Analytics Mastery: Strong background in tracking operational metrics like OR utilization, FCOTS, and surgical volumes.
- Revenue Integrity Expertise: Direct experience managing charge capture, medical billing holds, or audit workflows to ensure clinical actions align perfectly with financial outcomes.
- Technical Toolkit Command: Advanced proficiency with data and visualization tools such as Microsoft Excel, Tableau, Discern Analytics, and premier EHR systems (Cerner or Epic preferred).
- Elite Executive Communication: Exceptional interpersonal, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to present complex data clearly to busy clinical leadership teams.
