Scope/Purpose of the Position

The Senior System Administrator is responsible for effective configuration, operation, and maintenance of software and related infrastructure. This position participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure. The Senior System Administrator ensures that operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values, enabling staff, volunteers, and Partners. The Senior System Administrator oversees the Loan Origination System (LOS), and application systems that support the LOS.

Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions

  • System Administration, Software and Infrastructure• Engineering of System Administrator related solutions for various project and operational needs
  • Configure systems such as support systems, LOS’s, infrastructure applications, and Asset Management applications
  • Work with the release manager to develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures
  • Perform daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media, recovery tapes or disks are created, and media is recycled and sent off site as necessary
  • Research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks. Identify approaches that leverage our resources and provide economies of scale
  • Perform regular file archival and purge as necessary

  • Perform periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning
  • Troubleshooting• Provide support per request from various constituencies. Investigate and troubleshoot issues related to the LOS or any related process, dependency, integration, or any other application that may relate to the system of record.
  • Work with the release manager to repair and recover from software failures. Coordinate and communicate with impacted constituencies
  • Administration• Maintain operational, configuration, or other procedures to ensure timely updates are made

Work Experience and Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Experience in Retail, Wholesale and Correspondent Lending
  • Experience working with SharePoint, WordPress and Windows
  • Experience programming Syntax (C & VB based)
  • Experience LOS business knowledge
  • Knowledge of Mortgage banking process and tools
  • Knowledge in Queue Management
  • Knowledge of a wide range of LOS technologies.
  • Knowledge of Loan origination systems a plus
  • Excellent analytic skills, attention to detail, and ability to work within time constraints.
  • Excellent level of oral and written communication skills; Ability to communicate across a variety of audiences.
  • Intermediate level of computer skills and the ability to function in a windows environment utilizing Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Professional and effective interpersonal skills; Solid decision-making skills with display of professionalism in maintaining confidentiality. Ability to build strong relationships with internal business partners to achieve success.
  • Ability to rapidly acquire detailed knowledge of departmental policies, practices and procedures.
  • Strong time management skills, fast learner, self-motivated, and comfortable taking initiative and handling multiple projects simultaneously.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Finance, or Information Systems, preferred, or seven (7) years’ work experience in a similar role
  • Five-seven (5-7) years related experience in queue management.
  • Five-seven (5-7) years of mortgage industry experience and specifically related to origination, fulfillment and back office processes.
