Systems Security EngineerThe Opportunity:

As a cyber mission specialist, you understand the value of hunt-forward operations, and you know that battles are won in the grey. At Booz Allen, you can use your cyberspace operations experience to create solutions that will be executed on a worldwide stage. We’re looking for a cyber mission specialist like you to apply your experience with network and endpoint security, incident response, systems engineering, and AI-enabled cyber defense.

In this role, you will support enterprise cybersecurity operations, with a focus on maintaining secure system environments, implementing configurations, conducting updates, and ensuring system health. This engineering role supports cybersecurity analysts through hands‑on system administration, troubleshooting, configuration, monitoring, and documentation. Due to the nature of work performed within this facility, U.S. citizenship is required.

You Have:  

  • 8+ years of experience within Cybersecurity Operations, Security Engineering, Vulnerability Management, or Incident Response
  • Experience with incident response tasks, including preliminary triage and evidence gathering
  • Knowledge of the CISA Zero Trust Maturity Model and how to implement Zero Trust principles
  • Ability to support vulnerability management and remediation activities
  • Ability to enforce basic security configurations and assist with STIGs, patching compliance, and baseline hardening
  • Ability to prepare and maintain technical documentation including configuration notes, installation procedures, and system inventories
  • Public Trust
  • HS diploma or GED

Nice If You Have:  

  • Experience with a federal health or research oriented organization
  • Experience with evaluating emerging technologies and conducting proof‑of‑concepts to assess mission fit
  • Ability to collaborate with A&A, GRC, and cyber policy teams to ensure systems meet all security, privacy, regulatory, and audit requirements
  • Ability to integrate modern capabilities such as behavioral analytics, AI/ML enrichment, automated response, and threat intelligence into SecOps pipelines
  • Ability to support the preparation, testing, and integration of hardware or software components
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • CompTia Sec+ Certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $62,000.00 to $141,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
