About the Role

This is a founding engineering role at a YC-backed consumer wearable startup building in the emotional intelligence space. You will own the companion iOS app end-to-end, translating real-time emotional-state outputs from a proprietary AI inference model into intuitive, polished experiences for users. As an early team member, you will define the primary consumer touchpoint for the product and shape the technical direction of the app as the company scales.

What You'll Do

  • Own the companion iOS app from architecture through deployment and ongoing iteration.
  • Surface emotional-state and biometric insights from the core inference model through clean, intuitive app interfaces.
  • Build and ship a consumer-grade mobile experience that meets high product quality standards.

What We're Looking For

  • At least 2 to 3 years of professional iOS engineering experience; this role is not suitable for recent graduates.
  • Proven track record shipping polished, consumer-grade iOS applications.
  • Strong Swift proficiency and the ability to own mobile architecture decisions autonomously.
  • Experience translating complex model or data outputs into clean, accessible user interfaces.
  • Strong computer science fundamentals and comfort operating independently across time zones.
  • Background in full-stack or data-driven app development is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary of $150,000 USD (or approximately GBP 75,000 for London-based candidates), plus meaningful early-stage equity of up to 1 to 2%. No new visa sponsorship is available; visa transfers and OPT transitions are acceptable.

Location

On-site in London, England. The team also has presence in San Francisco, and some flexibility on location may be considered for the right candidate.
