Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage one or more Java engineering teams delivering large scale, enterprise grade applications
  • Act as a hands on technical leader, contributing to architecture, design reviews, and complex problem solving
  • Own end to end delivery including planning, execution, quality, and operational excellence
  • Design and evolve microservices based, cloud native architectures on AWS
  • Partner with Product, Architecture, DevOps, and Business stakeholders to align technology solutions with business goals
  • Drive engineering best practices including secure coding, performance optimisation, test automation, and CI/CD
  • Mentor and develop senior engineers and technical leads, building a strong leadership pipeline
  • Ensure high standards for code quality, scalability, reliability, and cloud cost optimisation
  • Support hiring, team scaling, and performance management of engineering talent
  • Act as a point of escalation for technical and delivery risks, proactively identifying and resolving issues
  • Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline
  • 12+ years of progressive software engineering experience with strong expertise in Java technology stack
  • Technical Skills• Solid experience with AWS Cloud,
  • Solid hands on experience with Java (8+) and modern enterprise frameworks such as Spring / Spring Boot
  • Experience building• o Backend: RESTful APIs, Microservices, Hibernate/JPA
  • Experience with Microservices architecture, event driven systems, and API design
  • Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and containerisation (Docker/Kubernetes)
  • Working knowledge of databases (SQL & NoSQL) and performance tuning

Preferred Qualification:

  • Master's degree

Leadership & Delivery Skills

  • Experience leading and mentoring mid to large engineering teams
  • Solid experience with Agile/Scrum delivery models
  • Ability to balance hands on technical work with people and delivery leadership
  • Excellent stakeholder communication and decision making skills
