The Collins Test Solutions Engineering (CTSE) organization is looking for a motivated individual to be a Senior Project Engineer leading multidisciplinary teams of engineers (including systems, mechanical, electrical, and software engineering) developing and or supporting complex test solutions. CTSE is a global engineering organization responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of the manufacturing and service center test solutions as well as external customers including armed services and airlines both domestic and international.
As a key member of the Collins Test Solutions Engineering leadership team, the Senior Project Engineer ensures the successful execution of test solution projects from inception, through deployment to customers, as well as long-term support. Typical test solutions include Optical, In-circuit Test, Boundary Scan, as well as COTS components such as switch systems, oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, power supplies and other related equipment coupled with custom software for performing Environmental Stress Screening as well as testing circuit card assemblies and top-level products.

The role requires working closely with engineers and leaders, at various locations around the globe, to ensure project success. Organizationally, the role reports to an Engineering Manager in the Collins Test Solutions Engineering organization.
What You Will Do:
- Act as a Liaison between internal customers from factory or service centers and CTSE to manage Expert On Call service tickets / work packages.
- Prioritize and delegate work to the CTSE customer support team which includes various engineers and technicians.
- Report highly critical tickets/work packages status to senior leadership through daily status meetings/email communication.
- Lead project technical execution and maintain performance metrics for decision making in an Agile project management environment.
- Utilize Agile tools to manage projects and generate metrics for presentations and to project future performance.
- Manage project scope (requirements and change requests) ensuring it meets agreed to commitments.
- Generate and maintain project schedules with understood dependencies, deliveries, and critical path.
- When needed, utilize Earned Value (EV) methods for managing project budget (and schedule).
- Ensure project meets quality expectations.
- Identify risks and opportunities and resolve them through proactive ownership.
- Prepare well-crafted presentations reporting project status to leadership teams.
- Develop Engineering estimates and proposals for potential projects and gaining organizational buy-in.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
- 3+ years experience in at least one of the following engineering disciplines: systems, mechanical, electrical, or software.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate cross-functional teams, prioritize rapidly shifting requirements, and deliver critical engineering milestones in a high-pressure, fast-paced work setting.
- Excellent communication, collaboration and customer focus skills
- Proficiency with developing and maintaining schedules using Microsoft Project and or Jira
- Previous experience as a Project Manager, supporting projects with scope comprised of numerous intricate requirements.
- An acumen for Earned Value management.
- Experience with Risk and Opportunity management.
- Prior project leadership of multidiscipline engineering teams, managing customer relationships
- Excellent organizational and time management skills to effectively execute multiple active projects.
- Ability to establish and maintaining effective customer relationships.
- Outstanding oral, written, and formal presentation communication skills.
- Strong leadership traits and practices.
- Master of Engineering or Master of Business Administration

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
