JOB SUMMARY: Assist the Language Supports and Services Department Director in developing and implementing online data visualization and reporting tools to support educational decision making at the classroom, school, district, and state aligned levels. Partner with information systems and data and analytics, to establish data and system requirements to ensure integrity of student data, including data extract, data upload, data pipeline, transformation, movement, and integration between software applications and the data warehouse. Ensure data submission and compliance with district and state data reporting. Create technical guidance and documentation to support staff in data analysis and in the implementation and evaluation of programs.

Job Task Descriptions Frequency Percentage of Time
1. Build and maintain data visualizations via business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau and other platforms) in collaboration with the performance team and district stakeholders. Daily 25%
2. Create, organize, transform, and maintain databases of students, teachers, schools, and state/national-level information as needed for reporting, evaluation, and analysis. Daily 25%
3. Maintain the integrity and confidentiality of all data, research, and analyses. Daily 15%
4. Participate and lead data training and staff development on data and assessment literacy to executives, building administrators, teacher leaders, and other district staff. Daily 10%
5. Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets and communicate these data driven insights effectively to multiple audiences in both oral and written form using APA style. Weekly 10%
6. Partner with district leadership and project teams in the formulation of research questions, identification of measurable objectives, development of research designs and timelines, and understanding and application of results from analyses. Weekly 5%
7. Collaborate with information systems staff and other offices as needed to review and update existing business and data requirements and processes to ensure efficiency and accuracy of the online assessment and district framework tools. Monthly 5%
8. Perform other duties as assigned or requested. Daily 5%

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: The minimum prerequisites of formal education, professional work experience, certifications, licenses, endorsements, designations, trainings, and other criteria that a candidate must fulfill to be considered for a position. - Bachelor's degree in a related field or a combination of equivalent work experience and/or certifications
- Proven working experience as a data analyst
- Working knowledge of and experience with SQL, reporting packages (Tableau, PowerBI, and SSRS), and databases
- Demonstrated understanding of data warehousing and ETL concepts and practices
- Demonstrated understanding of statistical software packages (e.g., SAS, SPSS)
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate data with attention to detail and accuracy
- High level of skill and experience with relational databases; advanced querying and software troubleshooting skills
- Ability to explain data and data systems proficiently to professional and lay audiences through oral communications and technical documents
- Familiarity with CDE assessment and data submission requirements, and/or student databases
- Familiarity with Culturally and Linguistically Diverse educational programming and relevant data requirements
- Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative team environment
- Criminal background check and fingerprinting required for hire
