Position Overview
Autodesk is looking for an experienced Network Engineer to join the Global Network Engineering team. Join us on our journey to provide customers with a world-class Software as a Service (SaaS) platform that powers innovative and industry-leading Autodesk products.
We are seeking passionate Network Engineers who are fascinated by the technologies that power the internet, data centers, and cloud computing. This team plays a critical role in designing and deploying secure, scalable, and reliable network infrastructure that supports both Autodesk's engineering standards and product goals.
As a member of the Global Network Engineering team, you will maintain advanced networking and security technologies while troubleshooting, implementing, and continuously improving networking standards, architectures, and operational processes. You will work across cloud and data center networking technologies, including Local Area Networks (LAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), switches, routers, load balancers, firewalls, and cloud networking services. You will also participate in cross-functional initiatives to design, document, and implement secure, enterprise-scale networking solutions.
Responsibilities
- Participate in the complete network lifecycle, including architecture, design, validation, deployment, operations, and continuous optimization
- Support the implementation of Autodesk's global network backbone and strategic infrastructure initiatives
- Develop, maintain, and enhance enterprise network standards while ensuring consistent implementation across the organization
- Partner closely with automation teams to design and implement tools that enable scalable network operations
- Automate networking tasks and develop self-service capabilities that improve operational efficiency
- Manage and enhance enterprise-scale Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) solutions
- Participate in organizational planning and technical strategy discussions
- Build and maintain strong relationships with third-party technology vendors
- Mentor team members and promote knowledge sharing across the engineering organization
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
- 10–15 years of experience in routing and switching technologies
- Knowledge of dark fiber infrastructure and associated networking technologies
- Experience managing Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) peering relationships
- Experience designing and supporting Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure networking services
- Ability to design, secure, automate, and optimize Amazon Web Services (AWS) networking infrastructure
- Hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) networking services, including Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, Lambda, Route 53, and Virtual Private Cloud (VPC)
- Strong understanding of Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) networking, architecture, and core technologies, including Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS), Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), Domain Name System (DNS), and Internet Protocol Security (IPsec)
- Knowledge of firewall technologies, network security configurations, and troubleshooting methodologies
- Proven experience working within Agile software development environments
- Strong presentation skills with the ability to communicate technical policies, proposals, and architectural designs
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with a collaborative mindset
- Ability to manage long-term, milestone-driven projects while working effectively across multiple teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification
- Experience with Python, Ansible, DevOps methodologies, and infrastructure automation
- Experience using infrastructure-as-code technologies such as Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or equivalent platforms
- Experience supporting large-scale enterprise or cloud networking environments
