ROLE PURPOSE:

Reporting to the Procurement & Commercial Manager, the Business Analyst provides analytical and coordination support across financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, commercial activities, and business planning to support effective decision-making and alignment of business priorities.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate reporting inputs by gathering, organizing, and validating financial, commercial, operational, and project data from relevant business functions.
  • Assist with preparation of cost reports, variance analyses, monthly reporting packages, and management reporting.
  • Support annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and monthly budget tracking activities.
  • Assist with analysis of actual versus budget performance and identify variances requiring follow-up.
  • Support month-end close and reporting activities, accrual tracking, reconciliation support and financial data collection.
  • Develop, maintain and improve business metrics, dashboards, reporting tools, and KPI trackers to support visibility and decision-making.
  • Support inventory reporting, reconciliation activities, and cost visibility initiatives.
  • Track and manage contract execution status, including deliverables, milestones, and follow-up actions.
  • Maintain contract registers and support commercial compliance activities.
  • Maintain capital expenditure trackers, commitment schedules, and supporting documentation for approved projects.
  • Support preparation and tracking of Approvals for Expenditure (AFE) and project financial information.
  • Support supplier onboarding, purchase requisition tracking, contractor coordination, and general business support activities.
  • Support preparation and maintenance of required documentation for external stakeholders.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related discipline or three to five (3-5) years equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in Finance, Accounting, or Commercial administration roles within a manufacturing, industrial and/or project environment
  • Proficient in use of AI to support role and business objectives
  • Strong understanding of key business drivers for a manufacturing/industrial facility.
  • Good understanding of financial reporting, cost tracking and budgeting, forecasting and management reporting processes.
  • Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, priorities, and deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to track activities, follow through on deliverables, and ensure timely completion of work.
  • Able to work effectively in a cross-functional environment, develop strong working relationships and communicate effectively across varied business, including non-finance, functions.
  • Ability to escalate issues appropriately and support resolution across functions.
  • Exposure in ERP business systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle, Pronto, JD Edwards) and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, with the ability to maintain data accuracy and resolve basic system issues.
