Educational Requirements:
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering at an accredited school in the United States.
- Preferred standing: 3rd- or 4th-year undergraduate student or Master's student.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain embedded software and firmware using C/C++ for optical transport systems.
- Design, implement, integrate, and verify real-time embedded solutions from requirements through deployment.
- Support development on RTOS-based platforms, including low-level drivers, interrupt handling, and control firmware.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate software with hardware, ARM processors, and FPGA-based components.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex system-level issues involving software, hardware, optics, and multi-processor architectures.
Qualifications
- Experience developing embedded software in C/C++ on RTOS-based platforms.
- Knowledge of firmware development, interrupt handling, low-level drivers, and timing-critical systems.
- Experience working with ARM processors, hardware interfaces, and multi-processor architectures.
- Familiarity with FPGA/CPLD integration and hardware-software interaction.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
It would be nice if you had:
- Experience with embedded Linux or other operating systems used in embedded development.
- Exposure to optical networking, telecommunications, or networking protocols.
- Experience using debugging tools, version control systems, and software development best practices.
