About us

splose is the AI-powered practice management platform powering better health care. Trusted by over 25,000+ Allied Health professionals around the world, splose is purpose-built to free clinicians from admin and let them focus on what matters most - helping people. Backed by leading VC funds EVP, Spectrum Equity, and Athletic Ventures we have recently announced a record-breaking $46M Series A raise - the largest Series A of any South Australian SaaS company ever. We’re growing fast and investing in our product, our people, and our global growth.

About you

You think in systems, not tickets. You'll bring our four technical lenses, Architecture, Security, Reliability and Data, into one voice for delivery teams, owning Reliability and Data yourself, commissioning Security, and supporting the CTO on Architecture. This is enablement, not platform: paved roads over mandates, reporting to the CTO, line managing the Principal Security Engineer and Senior Infrastructure Engineer, and staying hands-on around 30% of the time.

What you'll do:

  • Author a charter, maturity model and learning pathway for the SRE/Infrastructure and Data lenses, commission Security from the Principal Security Engineer, and support the CTO on Architecture, grounded in our own codebase and incidents
  • Build paved roads, not mandates: each tied to a named team, an agreed adoption target, and sunset if adoption doesn't land
  • Run one prioritised portfolio across all four lenses, scheduled against the delivery calendar so major discipline events don't collide with each other or with releases
  • Hire, coach and grow your direct reports, and direct the Data Engineer consultancy and Managed IT services vendor, including renewal and in-house decisions
  • Stay hands-on (~30%): Terraform and infrastructure work, ADRs, and the S1/S2 rotation
  • Own coding standards, specs conventions, one consolidated incident response plan, CI quality-gate integrity, and on-call design (co-signed with the affected EM)
  • Run the policy secretariat: register, template, cadence and evidence for the policies engineers currently carry ad hoc, while each policy's content stays with its executive owner. Year one is owner-assignment plus the register skeleton

What you'll bring:

  • Deep, current, hands-on expertise in cloud infrastructure and SRE (AWS, Terraform/IaC, observability, incident management), built over a substantial career, with credibility to own the Reliability lens
  • Experience leading senior specialists and directing consultants and managed-service vendors, including renewals
  • A track record of enablement by attraction, not mandate
  • Working fluency in application security and enough data engineering to author a Data lens with a consultancy as input
  • Experience in a scaling SaaS environment
  • An enabler's mindset, suspicious of building platforms nobody asked for
  • Comfort as a player-coach, portfolio thinking, and a habit of publishing rather than hoarding
  • Servant leadership of deep specialists, including peers in grade
  • A bias to boring technology: operable by the engineers we have, not the team we might hire
  • Regulated or healthcare data experience is a bonus

Next Steps:

Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for an initial screening call by our internal TA team.
