As the Specialist –Cyber Security, you will be responsible for ensuring that the right individuals have access to the business technology systems as well as be responsible for developing and implementing identity and access management systems, reviewing user access rights, and maintaining access policies.
Key Accountabilities and Decision Ownership:
- Design,
implement, and maintain server security hardening standards for Windows, Linux, and Unix operating systems in line with Business Cyber Security Baselines and industry best practices.
- Ensure secure
configuration, baseline compliance, and continuous hardening of on-premise, cloud, and hybrid server environments.
- Manage and
optimize endpoint protection solutions, including Anti-Virus and Endpoint Detection & Response (EDR/XDR) platforms.
- Monitor endpoint
security alerts, investigate suspicious activity, and coordinate containment and remediation actions with SOC and infrastructure teams.
- Perform and
coordinate vulnerability management activities, including vulnerability scanning, analysis, prioritization, remediation tracking, and reporting for servers and endpoints.
- Govern and
coordinate patch management for operating systems and server platforms, ensuring patches are deployed within agreed SLAs and risk exceptions are formally managed.
- Act as a Single
Point of Contact (SPOC) for Cyber Security for one African market and backup SPOC for another, supporting remediation of vulnerabilities, systems hardening, and patch compliance.
- Maintain and
support cybersecurity technologies related to server and endpoint protection, including Anti-Virus, EDR, logging solutions, and host-based IDS/IPS.
- Troubleshoot and
remediate Level 1 / 2 / 3 issues impacting server and endpoint cybersecurity operations.
- Support cyber
incident detection and response activities, particularly incidents originating from servers or endpoints.
- Facilitate
implementation, management, and optimisation of Cyber Security policies, Implement actions to close business technology risks, audit findings, and review actions within agreed timelines.
- Drive continuous
improvement of the organization’s cyber security posture through initiatives such as Cyber Security Baselines and secure configuration standards. suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Core competencies, knowledge and experience:
- At least 3 years
of work and proven experience in Privileged Access Management domain tools in terms of architecture & design, integration, implementation, maintenance, troubleshooting, stakeholder management, company wide project management.
- Knowledge on
CyberArk, Centrify systems hardening baselines.
- Demonstrated
ability to work effectively with 3rd parties
- Strong
analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Good
communication skills and team player.
- Proactive
approach to staying ahead of potential security threats.
- Superior report
writing skills.
Must have technical / professional qualifications:
- Degree in
Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent technology-related degree.
- Proven experience
in Linux and windows Operating systems;
- Familiarity with
Microsoft EDR, AV, Vulnerability scanners and Server configurations.
- At least one
professional Security Qualification: CompTIA Security+/CCNA Security.
Key performance indicators:
- Optimization of
the Operational & Monitoring Cyber Security Baselines (CSB) controls across all MPA relevant business areas and processes associated with IAM and PAM Security.
- Effective design
and implementation of Identity and Access Management security measures to protect data, software, and hardware.
- Monitoring and
responding to user activity and security breaches.
- Regular security
audits and vulnerability assessments for IAM technologies.
- Development and
enforcement of security policies and procedures.
- Collaboration
with IT and other departments to ensure comprehensive security measures.
- Staying updated
with the latest security trends, threats, and technology solutions.
- Providing
training and knowledge sharing to staff on network security practices.
- Supporting all
internal and external audits around technology systems and processes, ensuring these systems are free from known technology audit findings and all audit findings are closed within agreed timelines.
