Full Stack Senior Java Developer

As a Full Stack Senior Java Developer, you will design, develop, test, implement, and support enterprise‑grade applications within a fast‑paced banking and financial services environment. You will bring hands‑on expertise across the full technology stack, including front‑end development, backend services, API integrations, databases, cloud platforms, DevOps practices, and modern software engineering methodologies. You will collaborate with business stakeholders, product teams, architects, and fellow developers to deliver innovative technology solutions.

What You'll Do and How You'll Succeed

Software Development & Engineering

• Design, develop, enhance, test, and maintain enterprise applications, web services, and system integrations.

• Develop scalable client‑server applications, RESTful APIs, and microservices.

• Build and support front‑end applications using modern web technologies and frameworks.

• Write clean, maintainable, and reusable code following established coding standards.

• Perform code reviews and ensure adherence to software development best practices.

• Troubleshoot, identify, and resolve application defects and production issues.

• Develop and maintain system‑to‑system integrations and third‑party service integrations.

Solution Design & Architecture

• Design application architectures ensuring scalability, high availability, security, and performance.

• Create and maintain logical and physical data models across structured and unstructured data platforms.

• Participate in technical design sessions and contribute to architecture decisions.

• Develop technical specifications, design documents, and implementation guides.

DevOps & Cloud Engineering

• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate deployments and improve release efficiency.

• Implement DevOps best practices, automation frameworks, and infrastructure‑as‑code methodologies.

• Deploy and support applications across cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

• Manage containerised environments using Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker, or similar technologies.

• Support monitoring, logging, alerting, and performance optimisation initiatives.

Testing & Quality Assurance

• Develop automated test scripts and frameworks to improve test coverage.

• Execute unit, integration, system, and performance testing activities.

• Identify opportunities for test automation and continuous quality improvement.

• Document testing outcomes and support defect remediation activities.

Collaboration & Delivery

• Work closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Designers, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand‑ups, retrospectives, and backlog refinement.

• Support deployment, implementation, and production stabilisation activities.

• Continuously evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements to existing platforms.

Experience

• You have strong experience in software development with Java, Scala, Python, C#, or C/C++.

• You have experience with SQL, PL/SQL, Unix shell scripting, and XML.

• You have experience developing RESTful APIs, web services, and full‑stack applications.

• You have experience with middleware and messaging technologies such as IBM MQ, IBM WebSphere, or Open Message Queue.

• You have experience with relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server) and NoSQL databases (DynamoDB).

• You have experience deploying applications on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

• You have experience with Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker, and container technologies.

• You have experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git‑based source control, and DevOps workflows.

• You have experience with Unix/Linux administration and troubleshooting.

Technical Expertise

• You have backend expertise in Java, RESTful APIs, microservices, and enterprise integration technologies.

• You have frontend expertise in JavaScript, AngularJS or modern frameworks, and ASP.NET MVC/Web API.

• You have database expertise in Oracle, SQL Server, and DynamoDB, with strong data modelling and design skills.

• You have cloud expertise in AWS, Azure, or GCP, with experience in containerisation and virtualisation technologies.

• You have DevOps expertise in CI/CD pipeline implementation, automation tools, and monitoring platforms.

• You have collaboration tool expertise in Jira, Confluence, and the Atlassian suite.
