At WSP, you can. Here, you’ll work alongside some of the brightest minds in energy, contribute to nation‑shaping infrastructure, and help deliver secure, reliable and future‑ready power solutions. From solar, wind, hydropower and battery storage through to transmission, distribution and complex grid automation projects—your work will directly support Australia’s transition to a more sustainable energy future.

We value curiosity, diverse perspectives and people who thrive in collaborative environments. If you meet most (not all) of the criteria below, we still encourage you to apply—training and support will be provided for the right candidate.

What You’ll Do

As an Assistant Project Manager within our Power & Energy Project Delivery team, you will support and drive end‑to‑end delivery of transmission, substation, renewable and generation projects. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Support end‑to‑end project delivery and engage with clients and stakeholders.
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation (PMPs, risk registers, HSE plans).
  • Assist with project setup, budgeting and financial tracking in ERP systems.
  • Monitor progress, update budgets, forecast costs and analyse variances.
  • Support monthly invoicing, purchase orders and creditor approvals.
  • Coordinate with the Project Finance Specialist on budgets and WBS updates.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules aligned with milestones.
  • Manage project changes, variations and supporting documentation.
  • Assist with mobilisation, travel logistics and document control.
  • Prepare health & safety documents, proposals and ad‑hoc project materials.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders as a project representative.
  • Organise meetings, take minutes and track action items.

About You

We are looking for someone who thrives in a dynamic project environment and brings a combination of technical, financial and stakeholder management capability.

You’ll Bring:

  • Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, forecasting and project controls.
  • Previous experience in a project management environment (Power & Energy or Mining/Industrial environments highly advantageous).
  • Ability to build strong client relationships and communicate effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work both collaboratively and autonomously.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems (e.g. Oracle, SAP, ProjectWise, etc.).
  • A proactive mindset with the ability to manage priorities and support multiple Project Managers.

Our Offer

At WSP, you’ll have the scale, support and flexibility to do meaningful work while growing your career your way. You’ll be part of an inclusive team that values your ideas and empowers you to make an impact.

  • Competitive pay and salary continuance insurance
  • Hybrid working and the option to purchase up to 8 additional weeks of leave
  • Leadership development, mentoring, secondments and global mobility
  • Up to 16 weeks paid parental leave with tailored return‑to‑work support
