Job Purpose

As a Power BI Specialist, your main responsibilities will include understanding end user’s needs, translating them into analytical models, creating interactive dashboards, reports, apps with Power BI, testing the deliverables, deploying the solution, and ensuring knowledge transfer to end users.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand and meet their data analysis needs.
  • Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports.
  • Use Power Query for data transformation and manipulation.
  • Write advanced DAX formulas for complex business calculations.
  • Implement dimensional modelling (star schema) for efficient data organization.
  • Manage semantic models’ data refreshes.
  • Implement Power BI Row Level Security (RLS) to provide data access based on user roles.
  • Create and manage dataflows to automate data updates.
  • Write SQL queries for data extraction and analysis.
  • Organize backlog in the Jira ticketing tool.
  • Write comprehensive documentation.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor of Engineering.
  • 1-3 Years of relevant experience.

Certifications:

  • PL-300: Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst is an asset.

Soft skills:

  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills in English both written and verbal is mandatory for this role.
  • Proven international experience in a multi-cultural environment is mandatory for this role.
  • Able to convert business requests into business requirements.

Technical skills:

Mandatory:

  • Proficiency with Power Query.
  • Proficiency with DAX.
  • Proficiency with dimensional modelling (star schema).
  • Proficiency with SQL.
  • Proficiency with Power BI report development.
  • Proficiency with Power BI dataset/semantic model development.

Considered an asset:

  • Knowledge of Power BI Row Level Security.
  • Knowledge of Power BI dataflows.
  • Knowledge of Power BI portal administration.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Azure.
  • Knowledge of Jira Service Management
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Power Platform
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Fabric
  • Knowledge of Agile/SCRUM.
