The Senior Financial Analyst, Hospitality Asset Management supports the Hospitality Asset Management team in maximizing the value and financial performance of a diverse portfolio of hospitality assets. Reporting to the Vice Presidents of Operations and Hospitality Asset Management, this role is responsible for conducting detailed financial analyses, evaluating operating performance, identifying revenue optimization opportunities, supporting capital expenditure planning, and assessing return on investment initiatives across the portfolio.
Serves as a key analytical resource for Asset Management leadership, transforming complex operational and financial data into actionable insights that support strategic decision-making. partners closely with hotel operators, revenue management teams, finance departments, ownership stakeholders, and other functional leaders to identify opportunities that enhance profitability, improve asset value, optimize capital allocation, and drive long-term portfolio performance.
This position requires a highly analytical and intellectually curious professional with strong financial acumen, hospitality industry knowledge, and the ability to synthesize large amounts of data into clear recommendations that support ownership objectives and value creation initiatives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Financial Performance Analysis & Reporting
- Analyzes monthly, quarterly, and annual operating results across the hospitality portfolio, evaluating performance against budgets, forecasts, prior year results, competitive benchmarks, and ownership objectives.
- Reviews hotel financial statements, management reports, operating metrics, and forecast submissions to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Develops financial models, dashboards, and reporting tools that provide insightful analysis for Asset Management leadership.
- Supports annual budget reviews, long-range planning initiatives, and forecast evaluations.
- Prepares executive-level presentations and reporting materials for ownership, senior leadership, investment committees, and board presentations.
2. Revenue Optimization & Commercial Analysis
- Partners with hotel Revenue Management, Sales, Marketing, and Operations teams to evaluate revenue enhancement opportunities.
- Analyzes pricing, segmentation, distribution channel performance, market share trends, and competitive positioning.
- Identifies opportunities to improve room revenue, ancillary revenue, group business performance, resort fee strategies, food and beverage profitability, and other revenue streams.
- Evaluates commercial initiatives and revenue management strategies to ensure optimal revenue generation across the portfolio.
- Conducts market and competitive analyses to identify emerging trends and opportunities impacting asset performance.
3. Capital Planning & Investment Analysis
- Supports the development and evaluation of annual capital expenditure plans across the portfolio.
- Analyzes capital project proposals and business cases, including financial returns, operational impacts, and strategic alignment.
- Develops ROI, payback period, NPV, and IRR analyses for proposed investments and asset enhancement initiatives.
- Monitors approved capital projects and evaluate post-implementation performance against projected outcomes.
4. Strategic Asset Management & Portfolio Value Creation
- Identifies value enhancement initiatives through operational improvements, revenue opportunities, cost optimization, and capital deployment strategies.
- Conducts portfolio-wide analyses to identify best practices and performance improvement opportunities across properties.
- Supports cross-property and cross-marketing initiatives designed to increase customer engagement, visitation, and profitability.
- Prepares ad hoc analyses and recommendations supporting ownership decisions and asset management priorities.
5. Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental objectives, asset performance optimization, and portfolio value creation initiatives.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Hospitality Management, Economics, Business Administration, Real Estate, or related field required.
- Master's degree, MBA, CFA, or related advanced designation preferred.
- Minimum four (4) years of experience in hospitality asset management, hospitality finance, hotel operations finance, investment analysis, consulting, corporate finance, real estate, or a related field required.
- Related, relevant, and/or direct experience may be considered in lieu of minimum educational requirements indicated above.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSA)
- Strong experience building and maintaining complex financial models and business cases.
- Experience reviewing hotel operating statements, budgets, forecasts, and capital plans.
- Understanding of revenue management principles, hotel performance metrics, and hospitality operating structures.
- Experience preparing executive-level presentations and communicating financial insights into senior leadership.
- Hospitality ownership, REIT, private equity, investment management, consulting, or multi-property experience preferred.
- Advanced financial analysis and financial modeling skills.
- Strong understanding of hotel operations, hospitality financial statements, and industry performance metrics.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience utilizing business intelligence, financial reporting, and data visualization tools.
- Ability to synthesize complex financial and operational information into actionable recommendations.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to influence decision-making through data-driven insights and thoughtful analysis.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively with operators, consultants, ownership representatives, and executive leadership.
LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS AND REGISTRATIONS
- At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.
- Driving Responsibilities: Role requires regular commuting between locations. A valid driver's license and vehicle insurance with minimum liability limits is required. Role will not operate or drive Tribe-owned vehicles or patron vehicles.
