About the Company
Our client is a leading federal services contractor specializing in complex military construction projects for government clients. The organization delivers large-scale projects in demanding environments with a strong focus on safety, quality, schedule, and project execution.
The company is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join a major project in Darwin, Australia and play a key role in delivering large-scale infrastructure work for a federal client.
About the Position
The Project Manager will oversee one of three major projects and manage day-to-day execution through all phases of the project lifecycle, including startup, design and engineering, construction, change management, commissioning, closeout, and warranty.
Reporting to the Project Executive, the PM will serve as a key point of contact for the client and internal/external stakeholders while leading a large, multidisciplinary project team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Manage client relationships while protecting company interests.
- Oversee design, engineering, construction, safety, quality, and scheduling functions.
- Manage project financial activities, including accounts receivable and payable.
- Negotiate and execute contracts and purchase orders with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Lead weekly and monthly project meetings with project stakeholders.
- Ensure contractual and administrative requirements are completed accurately and on schedule.
- Identify and secure resources necessary for successful project execution.
- Maintain clear and consistent communication across the project team.
- Support successful project delivery through commissioning, closeout, and warranty.
- Perform additional responsibilities as directed by the Project Executive or Division President.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field required.
- 12+ years of total construction experience, including at least 5 years as a Project Manager
on heavy civil infrastructure projects valued at $50M+.
- DOD, USACE, or NAVFAC experience required.
- Experience managing large, multidisciplinary project teams.
- Strong understanding of heavy civil construction and federal project requirements.
- Advanced degree (MBA/MS) or professional certification/registration such as PMP or PE preferred.
- Fluent English communication skills required.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office; Primavera P6 experience preferred.
- Ability to successfully pass required background and security checks.
- Willingness and ability to travel approximately 50% to Darwin, Australia.
