Role Objective The DevOps Engineer will own the design, implementation, and optimization of CI/CD pipelines supporting multiple development teams and projects. This role requires hands-on expertise in Azure DevOps pipeline architecture, infrastructure automation, and troubleshooting deployment issues at scale. You will work with software development, data, and security teams to ensure reliable and secure application delivery across multiple cloud and platform environments.
Specific Responsibilities and Duties
- Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines across multiple projects
- Support application deployments for Windows and Linux environments, ensuring reliable releases
- Continuously improve system performance, availability, reliability, and security posture
- Troubleshoot failed deployments and pipeline executions, analyzing logs and identifying infrastructure or configuration issues
- Optimize pipeline performance and reliability, reducing build times and deployment failures through architectural improvements
- Participate in incident responses, triage, root‑cause analysis, and implement preventive measures
- Set up and maintain monitoring and alerting
- Build and maintain infrastructure using Infrastructure‑as‑Code
- Containerize applications and manage container images
- Manage secrets, certificates, and access control
- Integrate software composition analysis, static analysis, and dynamic analysis scanning tools into CI/CD pipelines, flagging vulnerabilities and partnering with development teams to triage and remediate findings
- Collaborate with development teams, helping them understand infrastructure and technology constraints and capabilities
Qualifications and Required Skills Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 1–5 years of hands-on DevOps or software engineering experience, preferably with Azure cloud platform
Technical Skills
- Advanced proficiency with Azure DevOps and Git
- Practical scripting or programming ability in Bash, PowerShell, Python, C# or similar
- Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes
- Working knowledge of Azure: AKS, Azure Monitor, APIM, networking, load balancing, Entra ID, Azure SQL Database, Front Door
- Familiarity with container image management (Docker, Azure Container Registry)
- Hands-on experience with Linux and Windows operating systems administration and troubleshooting
- Terraform skills, with the ability to write reusable modules
- Experience with .NET and Python application deployments
- Understanding of the Azure observability stack: Log Analytics, Application Insights, Azure Monitor alerts, Grafana, and Prometheus
- Experience with code, dependency, and container scanning tools such as GitHub Advanced Security, CodeQL, Trivy, and Checkov
- Knowledge of database principles and SQL
- Knowledge of network fundamentals
Nice to Have Skills
- SQL Server and Azure SQL Database administration
- Snowflake data warehouse knowledge
- Experience with Entra ID, Azure AD B2C, managed identities, and RBAC
- Experience with compliance frameworks such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, or HIPAA
- Familiarity with Helm for Kubernetes application package management
- Knowledge of GitOps practices for infrastructure and application deployment
- Basic familiarity with Azure Local or Hyper-V virtualization platforms

- Strong troubleshooting mindset; comfortable diving into logs and traces to diagnose issues
- Clear communication when explaining complex infrastructure decisions and trade-offs to developers
- Detail-oriented with focus on reliability, repeatability, and documentation
