Responsibilities & Key Deliverables
As an Assistant Manager - Engineering in the Engineering Services Department at Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, you will play a pivotal role in driving the Central Process Engineering activities for the Rudrapur Plant within the Farm Division. Your responsibilities will include designing, implementing, and optimising manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, quality, and safety. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including production, quality assurance, and maintenance to ensure alignment of engineering practices with business goals.
Key Deliverables:
- Develop and maintain detailed process documentation and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for manufacturing operations.
- Lead initiatives to identify process bottlenecks and implement technical solutions that enhance throughput and reduce costs.
- Drive continuous improvement projects using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to enhance product quality and process stability.
- Support the integration of new equipment and technologies, ensuring seamless process validation and knowledge transfer.
- Coordinate with supply chain and procurement teams to ensure availability of critical materials and components as per production schedules.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations throughout process design and execution.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of innovation and accountability.
- Prepare and present regular reports on process performance metrics and project status to senior leadership.

Education Qualification
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor of Engineering or a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, Mechatronics, or Industrial Engineering. A strong foundational knowledge in mechanical systems, manufacturing technologies, and process design principles is essential to succeed in this role.
The educational qualification should be complemented by an understanding of current industry standards and practices, along with proficiency in relevant engineering software tools. Demonstrated expertise in managing end-to-end process engineering projects, from conceptualisation through to implementation and continuous improvement, is expected. The candidate should have a proven track record of successfully collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to meet production targets and quality standards.
Experience with health and safety compliance, cost reduction initiatives, and the ability to work within a fast-paced manufacturing environment are important.
