Senior Software QA Engineer

Remote from LATAM | Full-Time | U.S. Time Zone Hours | $4000-$5000 USD/month

At Latino Legends, we connect exceptional Latin American professionals with innovative companies across the globe. We're currently partnering with a fast-growing healthcare technology company that is transforming patient care through cutting-edge Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM) solutions.

We're looking for an experienced Senior Software QA Engineer who is passionate about software quality, thrives on solving complex technical problems, and enjoys building scalable testing processes from the ground up.

About the Opportunity

Our client is an industry-leading healthcare technology company experiencing rapid growth and building innovative digital health solutions from the ground up.

As the Senior Software QA Engineer, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the quality, stability, and reliability of their Remote Patient Monitoring platform. Rather than simply executing test cases, you'll own the entire quality assurance process—from identifying root causes of issues to designing scalable testing frameworks and collaborating closely with engineering and product teams to prevent bugs before they reach production.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys technical investigation, process improvement, and making a meaningful impact in a mission-driven healthcare environment.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Own the end-to-end bug lifecycle, from initial triage through root cause analysis and validation.
  • Investigate production issues by analyzing application logs, databases, and backend systems to identify the source of defects.
  • Work closely with developers by providing detailed reproduction steps, technical findings, and actionable recommendations.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers and Engineers early in the development process to identify potential risks and edge cases before development begins.
  • Design, implement, and continuously improve automated integration testing frameworks and QA processes.
  • Define testing standards and quality gates that help ensure reliable software releases.
  • Test RESTful APIs and validate application data using SQL queries.
  • Create comprehensive test plans, testing documentation, and reusable QA assets.
  • Help foster a culture where software quality is a shared responsibility across the engineering organization.
  • Ensure testing practices align with security and privacy requirements for sensitive healthcare data.

What We're Looking For

  • 4+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance or Software Engineering with a strong focus on integration and system-level testing.
  • Strong debugging and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) skills.
  • Ability to read application code and investigate issues in backend systems (Python/Django experience is preferred).
  • Experience working with PostgreSQL or similar relational databases.
  • Proven experience building automated testing frameworks using tools such as:
  • PyTest
  • Playwright
  • Selenium
  • Cypress
  • Strong understanding of modern QA methodologies, including Shift-Left Testing.
  • Experience testing RESTful APIs.
  • Ability to write SQL queries to validate application data.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field (or equivalent professional experience).
  • Advanced English communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience writing code and contributing minor bug fixes in Python/Django applications.
  • Familiarity with Django REST Framework.
  • Experience with healthcare technology standards such as HL7 or FHIR.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA and SOC 2 compliance environments.
  • Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions or similar).
  • Previous experience working closely with Product Management teams in startup or high-growth environments.

Why You'll Love This Opportunity

  • Help build technology that directly improves patient care.
  • Join a rapidly growing healthcare technology company with a meaningful mission.
  • Take ownership of QA strategy and help shape engineering best practices.
  • Work remotely with a collaborative, high-performing product and engineering team.
  • Enjoy significant technical autonomy and the opportunity to influence how quality is built into every stage of development.
  • Grow your career while working with modern technologies in a fast-paced, innovative environment.

If you're passionate about software quality and enjoy building reliable, scalable products that make a real-world impact, we'd love to hear from you. Apply today and let Latino Legends connect you with your next career opportunity.
