About the Opportunity

Higher education customers are transforming to modern campuses while leveraging technology and solutions to enable student success. We are currently looking for Lead Software Engineer – Full Stack to join our Allocation Based Registration product team. Looking for someone innovative, intellectually curious, that has a solution-oriented attitude and enjoys learning new tools and technologies and that enjoys working in an agile environment, having technical expertise in full-stack application development using Node.JS and React and hands-on experience with the full software development cycle, from design to deployment.

• Lead the design, development, testing, and delivery of high-quality, scalable enterprise software, driving technical excellence across the team.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship, fostering engineering best practices and enabling team members to grow and succeed.
• Champion AI-driven software development by leading the adoption of AI-assisted engineering practices and tools that improve developer productivity, software quality, and delivery velocity.
• Establish best practices for the responsible use of AI, ensuring AI-generated code and artifacts are validated, secure, maintainable, and aligned with engineering standards.
• Architect robust, maintainable, and performant solutions that meet both functional and non-functional requirements while exceeding customer expectations.
• Drive a quality-first engineering culture by championing automated testing, code quality, security, reliability, and performance throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Lead technical planning, design reviews, and implementation efforts, ensuring alignment with architectural standards and business objectives.
• Take end-to-end ownership of features and initiatives—from requirements analysis and solution design through implementation, testing, deployment, and production support.
• Collaborate effectively with product managers, architects, QA, DevOps, and cross-functional engineering teams to deliver customer-focused solutions.
• Make sound technical decisions, balancing short-term delivery needs with long-term maintainability, scalability, and operational excellence.

What You Will Bring

• 8-12 years of experience developing enterprise software using Node.JS, React, TypeScript, and AWS in a product-based organization.
• Strong proficiency in AI-assisted software development, including:
• Hands-on experience with GitHub Copilot (or equivalent AI coding assistants) for code generation, refactoring, testing, and debugging.
• Ability to create and maintain repository-level AI instruction files (e.g., copilot-instructions.md) to enforce coding standards and development practices.
• Strong prompt engineering skills for development, testing, and documentation workflows.
• Sound judgment to review, validate, and refine AI-generated code before production use.
• Understanding of AI governance, including traceability, responsible AI usage, and cost optimization.
• Desirable: Experience with AI-assisted test generation (e.g., Playwright MCP) and agentic AI workflows/MCP server integrations.

• Strong experience building modern web applications with React and TypeScript.
• Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Docker, Artifactory, GitOps, or similar technologies.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services such as ECS, ECR, Lambda, DocumentDB, and related cloud-native technologies.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or similar provisioning tools.
• Solid understanding of object-oriented design, design patterns, data structures, and software engineering best practices.
• Experience designing and building highly available, distributed, and scalable enterprise systems.
• Experience working in Agile development environments with a strong focus on quality and continuous delivery.
• Proven ability to mentor and coach engineers while fostering technical excellence across the team.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and business teams.
• Desirable: Experience with relational or NoSQL databases.
• Desirable: Experience with Selenium WebDriver, CodeUI, JUnit, JMeter, or similar testing tools.
• Desirable: Experience with Java.
• Desirable: Scrum Master certification or experience facilitating Agile teams.
