POSITION PURPOSE
The individual in this position will handle daily support practices, incident support, etc. and provide feedback to the technical and leadership teams. Network Engineers install and maintain network infrastructure, collect network performance data, and resolve network issues in collaboration with vendors, and IT teams. They work at organizations' centralized network operations or data centers. It is expected that the candidate has demonstrated historical competency in networking while also has the technical aptitude to progress towards cross disciplinary technology operations support.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
- Provide Tier 3 Technical Support.
- Up to 30% travel (primarily day travel by automobile) to sites within a region to address technical needs.
- Execute or implement changes or infrastructure requests.
- Install and configure network hardware and software, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
- Monitor network performance to identify and resolve issues promptly.
- Maintain, configure, and upgrade Cisco telephony systems.
- Maintain network security by implementing security measures and protocols per the Bank’s standards.
- Manage network backup and recovery processes to ensure data integrity and availability.
- Perform regular maintenance and updates on network systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Troubleshoot and provide client support for technology and infrastructure issues.
- Document and update incident technical details into service desk ticketing system.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of network configurations, changes, and inventory.
- Generate regular reports on network performance, security incidents, and usage statistics.
- Communicate with key stakeholders to provide frequent status updates regarding technical issues and status of the remediation efforts.
- Execution of standard operational processes which involve technology and client interfaces.
- Perform all triage functions
- Advanced familiarity with Cisco IOS and monitoring platforms
- Perform network hardware replacements
- Troubleshoot software or configuration related issues
- Adhere to operating procedures
- Identify and remediate possible major impacting events within the network
- Work with vendors across the technology to provide the highest possible uptime rate of network services
- Adept at use of OSI model

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Certification: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent working experience, networking related certification(s), or courses in progress, and strong experience with SNMP Monitoring tool or equivalent.
Cisco certifications highly desirable
CISSP Certification
Required Knowledge: Strong knowledge of Cisco equipment including ISR, ACI, FTD, Wireless Controllers.
Advanced Knowledge of Call Manager 12.x (or higher), Cisco Unity Connection.
Intermediate understanding of OSI model and troubleshooting of technology related issues.
Strong knowledge of communication technologies such as: TCP/IP, Ethernet, VLANs, QoS, VoIP, MPLS, Wi-Fi and VPN.
Strong Knowledge in IP Routing Protocols (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP)
Understanding of advanced routing and switching, including Cisco VSS.
Experience Required: 3+ years of overall experience with Cisco Network Engineer with mastered knowledge of Routing, Layer 2, and Layer 3 switching.
3+ years of experience with VolP and VTC systems, including Cisco CUCM/UCCX platform, and endpoints.
3+ years of hands-on enterprise network operations support experience.
Recent experience with SIP Trunking.
Experience interfacing with Cisco's team working through issues and staying current on updates and changes to tools and products
Cisco Firewalls security modules and Cisco FTD Platform experience is strongly preferred
Experience with video conferencing software a plus.
IT Banking Experience highly desired
Skills/Abilities: Able to work well in a fast-paced environment and be comfortable in stressful situations.
Can effectively communicate with both management as well as non-technical personnel on any technology issues to ensure they understand the nature of the issue and current statue easily understood on any outage conference calls.
Detail oriented self-motivated goal driven
Excellent written and oral English communication and presentation skills.
Experience successfully supporting and managing an enterprise network.
Ability to oversee the execution of vendor assigned plans and tasks.
Experience in change control methodology with an ability to provide clear technical documentation supporting change.
Willingness to work beyond core business hours, if necessary to minimize business interruption during planned or unplanned security system modifications.

Possess strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
