Test Engineer Intern Summary
Test Engineers are responsible for working as part of an agile team that delivers business value to its customers. They ensure software is delivered to high quality standard by collaborating with their agile team members and by leveraging various testing techniques. Test Engineers embrace the planning, design, management, execution and reporting of tests, using appropriate testing tools and techniques while conforming to agreed upon process standards and industry specific regulations.
Test Engineer Intern Summary – Solutions - Commitments Team
The Commitments Team is seeking a Test Engineer Intern to support the delivery of high-quality software solutions within a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) environment. Working alongside experienced Software Engineers, Test Engineers, and Business Analysts, you will gain hands-on experience in software testing, test automation, API testing, Agile delivery, and modern software engineering practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Support testing activities across HRC solutions.
- Assist with the development and maintenance of automated test scripts.
- Execute smoke, functional, regression, integration, and exploratory testing.
- Create and maintain test artifacts, including test plans, test cases, test scripts, and test reports.
- Execute test cases under the guidance of senior team members.
- Support testing of API integrations used to send plan information and receive Enrollment data from external systems.
- Analyse test results, identify defects, and assist with issue investigation and resolution.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across testing and automation practices.
- Explore the use of AI tools and technologies to improve testing efficiency and software quality.
Required Skills
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- Understanding of software testing principles and quality assurance concepts.
- Basic programming knowledge in C#, Java, JavaScript, BDD (ReqnRoll/Specflow), or a similar language.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Enthusiasm for learning new technologies and ways of working.
Desirable Skills
- Exposure Visual studio and to test automation tools such as Playwright or Selenium.
- Exposure to API testing tools such as Postman and API test scripting.
- Familiarity with Git or other source control systems.
- Understanding of Agile development methodologies.
- Interest in AI and modern software engineering practices.
