Our products, projects, and internal processes continue to grow in complexity, and with them, so does the amount of data we generate every day. To support our next stage of growth, we are looking for an experienced Senior Data Engineer who will take ownership of our data architecture and help build a scalable, reliable, and well-governed data ecosystem across the company.
One year ago, we established our Data function. We are now looking for a senior professional who will elevate it to the next level by designing the foundations for data integration, quality, governance, and analytics. This is a unique opportunity to shape the company's data landscape from the ground up and have a direct impact on decision-making across the entire organization.
Bagira is a Czech-Israeli company based in Brno with approximately 170 employees, specializing in the development of advanced military training and simulation systems combining software, electronics, mechanics, embedded systems, and virtual reality technologies. We develop complete products in-house—from concept and R&D to manufacturing and global delivery. Our simulators are used by hundreds of thousands of soldiers in more than 40 locations worldwide.
This role offers the opportunity to design and build the company's core data infrastructure while working closely with leadership and technical teams. You will collaborate across Product Management, Engineering, Procurement, Production, Finance, and Operations to ensure data becomes a trusted strategic asset supporting both operational excellence and long-term business growth.

Your Mission
- Analyze data quality across our ERP and other business systems, identify inconsistencies, missing or inaccurate data, and design corrective measures.
- Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines for collecting, transforming, and integrating data from multiple business systems.
- Design, implement, and continuously develop the company's Data Warehouse / Data Lake as the central source of truth.
- Establish and maintain data governance, including data standards, documentation, monitoring, quality controls, and ownership.
- Integrate and optimize data flows across ERP, CRM, MRP, Power Platform, and other internal systems.
- Develop dashboards, reports, and data models supporting both operational reporting and strategic decision-making.
- Partner with Product Management, R&D, Procurement, Production, Finance, and other departments to understand business requirements and translate them into scalable data solutions.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior team members while promoting best practices in data engineering.
Your Profile
- Several years of hands-on experience in Data Engineering or a similar role.
- Experience working with data in a manufacturing or engineering environment is highly preferred. You understand how production, procurement, planning, inventory, and engineering data fit together and support business operations.
- Strong experience designing and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines.
- Experience building and operating Data Warehouses and/or Data Lakes.
- Good understanding of data architecture, data modeling, and data governance principles.
- Experience integrating data across enterprise systems such as ERP, CRM, MRP, or similar platforms.
- Strong SQL skills and experience with data transformation and automation.
- Experience with cloud or modern data platforms is an advantage.
- Programming experience (e.g. Python) and familiarity with automation tools.
- Strong analytical thinking, ownership, and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and business stakeholders.
- Previous experience mentoring colleagues or acting as a technical lead is an advantage.
