Job Overview Vital Study Skills is seeking a dedicated and talented Remote Java Developer to join our team on a Full-Time basis. As a key member of our technology team, you will play a crucial role in developing and enhancing the software platforms that deliver our vital educational services to students and institutions across the globe. Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, and high-performance Java-based applications.
- Collaborate with product managers, instructional designers, and other stakeholders to translate requirements into well-engineered solutions.
- Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, from initial concept and design through to testing, deployment, and support.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following best practices.
- Perform code reviews to ensure code quality and distribute knowledge within the team.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve issues in our production and non-production environments.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of our development processes and technology stack.
Qualifications
- Proven professional experience in Java software development.
- Strong proficiency with the Java language and core libraries.
- Experience with common Java frameworks such as Spring or similar.
- Solid understanding of object-oriented programming principles and software design patterns.
- Experience working with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and writing efficient SQL queries.
- Familiarity with version control systems, particularly Git.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- The ability to work independently and manage your time effectively in a remote setting.
- A genuine interest in education technology and our company's mission is highly desirable.
