Job Description:

Lead a high-impact Specialty Engineering organization delivering resilient space-based systems for commercial weather sensing and defense missions. As a hands-on working manager, you will support delivery of solutions that can withstand the harsh environments of space.

Essential Functions:

  • Lead, coach, and develop 20-25 engineering professionals; set clear priorities, performance expectations, and growth plans.
  • Serve as a working manager, providing technical direction for radiation modeling and space-environment analyses.
  • Guide components engineering, materials selection, failure analysis, logistics, and planning across the product lifecycle.
  • Lead complex trade studies and root-cause investigations; convert mission constraints into executable engineering plans.
  • Improve specialty engineering standards and tools and communicate technical direction across engineering and program teams.
  • Bid work scope and ensure we are meeting objectives across programs

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering and a minimum of 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree in Engineering and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
  • Ability to obtain a federal security clearance

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Experience with radiation modeling, space environments, or space-system survivability analysis.
  • Experience in components engineering, materials selection, reliability, or failure analysis.
  • Experience leading multi-disciplinary engineering work across concept, design, test, operations, and sustainment.
