The Opportunity

The People Data Scientist will join our People Analytics team within Employee Experience, and report to the Sr. Mgr, People Data Science. This incredible role will work with a team of analysts, data scientists, and data engineers to derive insights and recommendations that inform strategic people-related decisions. This is an opportunity well suited to someone early in their career who is ready to apply their analytical and technical training to real-world people data problems, including the development of AI-powered tools that help scale people analytics work!

What You'll Do

  • Conduct analytical deep dives on complex data, and communicate takeaways to (non-analytical) partners to aid their decision making
  • Explore, prototype, and iterate on insights from internal data and research, with mentorship on what and how to scale
  • Develop predictive models to forecast outcomes and inform people decisions
  • Build and refine AI-powered tools, bots, and agents (e.g., using LLMs) that help make people data and insights more accessible across the organization
  • Help automate recurring analyses (e.g., via R or Python scripts)
  • Demonstrate deep care for the ethical implications of working with employee data and follow team practices for privacy and legal compliance
  • Support the definition of key people metrics, including data elements, logic, and implementation, and help evaluate new data signals
  • Partner with other technical teams to help maintain a solid foundation for managing, processing, and analyzing data efficiently and securely

What You Need to Succeed

  • PhD (or equivalent experience) in Industrial-Organizational Psychology, Cognitive Science, Data Science, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field
  • Experience applying statistical and/or machine learning techniques to people data (e.g., survey data, HRIS data, human behavior or product interaction data), gained through academic, research, or internship experience
  • Knowledge of statistical methods (e.g., regression, cluster analysis, text analysis, forecasting/predictive models, ML, etc.)
  • Proficiency in data querying, hypothesis testing, and analysis using tools such as SQL, Python, and R
  • Exposure to building or working with AI/LLM-powered tools and agent frameworks is a plus
  • Ability to craft clear, compelling, and truthful insights from complex data
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey data insights to non-technical partners
  • Ability to work collaboratively across functions within an organization
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Expected Pay Range:

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several  U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this position is $109,000 - $200,700 annually. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process.

In California, the pay range for this position is $138,600 - $200,700

At Adobe, for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base + commission), and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans.  Non-sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short-term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).

In addition, certain roles may be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
