This role will be based in London, UK and you are required to have the necessary right to work details prior to application.

Role Purpose

The Hartford seeks an experienced and results-driven Business Analyst to join it’s London based IT team.  

The successful candidate will play a key role in the delivery of the Hartford’s strategic digital transformation programme. The programme will transform core underwriting processes by leveraging automation to streamline processes, reduce operational inefficiencies, and enable straight-through process where possible. At the heart of the initiative is the creation of a new underwriting workbench, which will equip underwriters with a single platform to manage workflows effectively,

The role will act as a bridge between business stakeholders and technology teams, with the successful candidate being responsible for end-to-end analysis activities and for delivering high quality technical requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the liaison between business stakeholders and IT
  • Document and translate business requirements into technical documentation including use cases, wireframes, workflow diagrams, functional and non-functional system requirements.
  • Analyse requirement feasibility to determine whether the requirement is viable both technically and operationally.
  • Collaborate with developers to determine functionality options and associated level of effort and to communicate any trade-offs between usability and cost to the business units
  • Collaborate with solution architects, developers, data engineers, and third-party vendors to design and deliver integration solutions.
  • Presentation of solutions to all levels within the organization.
  • Support testing, business readiness, and change adoption activities.

Experience & Qualification

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Business Analyst role 
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience working within the insurance sector
  • Demonstrated experience working on underwriting platforms, underwriting workbenches, policy administration systems, or related insurance applications.
  • Strong understanding of insurance business processes and policy lifecycle management.
  • Experience delivering complex business, technology and digital transformation projects.
  • Ability to map complex business processes and identify opportunities for optimisation and automation.
  • Familiarity with data analysis, reporting requirements, and system integration concepts.
  • Experience with Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall methodologies.
  • BCS International Diploma in Business Analysis (preferred but not essential)
