Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is seeking a talented Senior Project Manager - Marketing Location: Washington, DC, McLean, VA, and Remote Department: Department of Transportation (DOT), Federal Highway Administration (FHA) Type: Full Time Min. Experience: Experienced Security Clearance Level: Public Trust Salary Range: $110,000 - $118,000

  • Design and implement targeted marketing campaigns and stakeholder outreach initiatives aimed at increasing project visibility, awareness, and engagement among key audiences
  • Develop strategic promotional plans
  • Identify and engage relevant stakeholders
  • Create compelling marketing materials
  • Manage both digital and traditional marketing channels
  • Measure and monitor campaign performance and adjust tactics as needed to maximize impact and support the TFHRC’s overall communication objectives
  • Provide end-to-end project oversight and tracking for all publications, marketing, and other related tasks
  • Handle planning, scheduling, and milestone tracking
  • Provide administrative support and regular status updates to ensure timely delivery of all tasks and projects in a busy research communications and publishing office
  • Coordinate directly with Government Contracting Officers (COs), Technical Representatives (CORS), Task Managers, and Researchers
  • Ensure that all deliverables are met on schedule and within budget while managing risk and performance metrics
  • Ensure that staff are updating the submission and project tracking system to enable customers to see the status of their project
  • Monitor and document production details across all product phases, due dates, production schedules, and milestones
  • Proactively follow up with RD&T Research Staff to keep tasks on track to meet deadlines
  • Record and maintain all progress and status information in the RD&T product submission and tracking system
  • Utilize the designated project tracking system to regularly document and update tasks, due dates, lead staff assignments, action items, and other pertinent project information
  • Submit a monthly progress report by the 15th of the month for the preceding calendar month

 Required Skills and Experience

  • 10+ years of relevant professional experience, including leadership of multidisciplinary teams, managing marketing and communications, and supervising the publication of technical information from concept to final product from one-page flyers to 300+ technical reports, presentations, videos, online tours, social media, and other communications collateral
  • U.S. Citizenship required for this position.

Professional CertificationsNone required however Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred

Years of Professional Experience10+ years of total professional experience

Desired experienceTransportation experience, especially in highway and surface transportation is preferred

Formal EducationBachelor’s degree or higher with relevant experience in Business, Marketing/Communications, or a related technical discipline

Citizenship RequirementU.S. Citizenship required for this specific opportunity

Security Clearance RequirementsMust possess or qualify for a Public Trust (MBI)
