Network Engineer, Network Operations Center

Job Description:

The Network Engineer I is responsible for continuously monitoring enterprise network performance using network management tools and systems to ensure stability, availability, and reliability across all locations. The role involves identifying, acknowledging, and responding to network alerts and incidents in a timely manner while ensuring internal SLA commitments are consistently maintained. The engineer will diagnose and resolve network issues related to performance, connectivity, and reliability, and provide technical support and guidance to internal teams and external customers as required.

The position requires managing and escalating network incidents appropriately, while documenting and clearly communicating incident details, resolution steps, and preventive measures. The engineer will assist in the configuration and maintenance of network devices including routers, switches, firewalls, and related infrastructure, ensuring devices are up to date with approved firmware versions and that configuration backups are properly maintained. Accurate documentation of network configurations, changes, and procedures must be maintained, along with regular updates to network diagrams and asset inventories.

The Network Engineer I will work closely with other NetOps/NOC engineers, IT teams, and external vendors to resolve complex issues and implement operational improvements. The role includes analyzing network performance metrics and recommending optimizations to enhance efficiency and reliability. Timely reporting to stakeholders, Global HelpDesk, and management during incidents is a key expectation. The engineer will provide technical, administrative, and monitoring support for Cisco, Juniper, HP/Aruba, Palo Alto firewalls, F5 load balancers, and related network technologies. Additionally, the role involves conducting knowledge transfer sessions to strengthen team troubleshooting capabilities and reduce unnecessary escalations. The engineer is expected to ensure high network availability across all offices through proactive monitoring and remediation and must be willing to work in shifts, including nights and weekends, to support a 24x7 operations environment.
