Primary Purpose of the Job
Primary Purpose of the Job
Support the analyses and streaming of large data volumes into Production Data Management System (PDMS) with focus on ensuring all data are QA/QC’ed, evergreen and can be efficiently accessed for real-time production surveillance, optimization, used for reservoir modelling, and field development studies. The position requires proven technical and software skills, a strong understanding of management of petroleum data and standards, and the ability to generate fast and accurate work using available tools and systems.
Principal Accountabilities
- Support Production Data Management System (PDMS) usage, maintenance and improvement, ensuring all data is QA/QC’ed, up to date and accurate.
- Participate in designing and implementing and updating data capture screens, data collection processes, data validation strategies and analytical/calculation models.
- Create/update PDMS data loader & provide support to PDMS users.
- Participate in daily/monthly back allocation workflows for different streams.
- Generate regular Scorecards KPI/Reporting and publish /share KPIs to users.
- Provide support and participate with cross-functional teams (Ops-excellence teams) in undertaking data analysis and delivering insights and recommendations to manage the Asset and the Asset’s tools and systems.
- Participate / support software testing working in conjunction with IT.
- Participate in updating departmental procedures.
Decision Making Authority
Within broad guidelines set by Supervisor within the Department mandate, perform and support assigned activities and deliver recommendations. The incumbent is accountable for own decisions, actions and outcomes. Work requires regular occasional by Supervisor and delegated staff.
Activities / Responsibilities
- Support the lead/main focal point of PDMS: ensure all data and processes are efficiently managed and delivering required data flows.
- Maintain and manage PDMS users’ access and provide user support.
- Maintain, monitor and update (as required) PDMS back allocation network for all systems.
- Ensure all daily data get loaded and completed – including formatting and transforming – as per PDMS requirements.
- Load and update SCADA tags for all elements ensuring SCADA data is streaming to as required. Log and track data flowing issues and escalate as required IT team.
- Ensure PDMS and data is processed and communicated to other systems, applications, processes and tools as required.
- Maintain, monitor and update IPMS (integrated Production Management System) for auto well test validation
- Maintain, monitor and update the well/reservoir analysis tool (OFM – Oilfield Manager)
- Create new report templates and maintain existing reports in QatarEnergy’s reporting portal (Ms SQL Reporting services/SRSS)
- Maintain, monitor and update auto email generation reports
- Participate in regular T5 Operational excellence meetings with cross functional teams.
- Generate and compile UN weekly reports.
- Load/update well live cycle for POP/POI update into PDMS.
- Support weekly WT validation by checking WT validation records completeness, upload to PDMS and transfer/update OFM Well Test tables.
- Support generating KPIs scorecards, weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual reports and ensure all calculation processes in PDMS and data inputs are available.
- Load all well targets are loaded into PDMS for compliance, tracking and monitoring.
- Participate in updating QMS departmental procedures.
Required Experience and Skills
Qualifications / Knowledge / Skills / Experience
- Minimum 5, preferably 10 years of experience in data management, petroleum data analysis, IT, petroleum & production operation domain or a similar role within the oil and energy industry.
- Experience in working with any production data management system (PDMS), large datasets and ETL process.
- Excellent understanding of data systems, data sources, data warehousing, data security, industrial databases (e.g. Oracle, Ms. SQL, SCADA data historians, Access) and Oil industry data standardization.
- Proficiency in using data analysis and visualization, business intelligence (BI) tools such as SRSS, PowerBI, or Tableau.
- Excellence in programming languages for industry database, e.g. SQL/PL-SQL, XML/HTML, or Phyton.
- Prior experience in petroleum engineering applications, such as Sensia’s Avocet Volume Manager (AVM), OFM, e-Search and/or ESRI ArcGIS.
- Awareness of Prosper (well modelling), Kappa workstation, Kappa Emerude
- Strong understanding / experience in back allocation concepts, material balance, well model and well rate estimate, and measurement tools.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
Educational Qualifications
B.Sc degree in geoscience, data science, computer science or related field.
