Position Description:
VAAS Professionals is looking for a Public Health Data Analyst to help turn complex immunization program data into actionable insights that strengthen vaccine delivery, program compliance, and public health outcomes nationwide. You will support the program group, providing expertise on study design, data interpretation, statistical analysis and dissemination of results, while upholding data quality assurance and management standards.
What you’ll do:
As a Public Health Data Analyst, you will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Collect, clean, validate, and analyze large data sets from VFC providers and jurisdictions to support PEAR program monitoring and reporting.
- Track and assess vaccine distribution, usage, provider participation, data quality, and compliance-related indicators.
- Develop clear dashboards, visualizations, performance metrics, and trend reports that communicate program status and emerging issues.
- Identify data gaps, reporting inconsistencies, operational risks, and opportunities to improve program efficiency and decision-making.
- Support routine and ad hoc analyses that help evaluate program performance and inform evidence-based improvements.
- Prepare concise written summaries, tables, charts, and narrative materials for program briefings, reports, and stakeholder updates.
- Collaborate with program staff, analysts, epidemiologists, and jurisdictional partners to interpret findings and support data-informed action.
- Maintain strong data documentation, quality assurance practices, and repeatable workflows for analysis and reporting.
- Providing monthly and routine reports on the tasks progress, activities etc.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred in public health, epidemiology, biostatistics, data science, computer science, information systems, or a related field.
- At least 4 years of experience in public health data analysis, program evaluation, data management, surveillance, or related analytical work.
- Experience with immunization programs, vaccine distribution, provider reporting, compliance monitoring, or CDC-related public health programs is required.
- Experience collecting, cleaning, validating, analyzing, and reporting on large data sets from multiple sources.
- Ability to create dashboards, visualizations, performance metrics, trend reports, and clear written summaries for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Working knowledge of statistical, data management, or visualization tools such as SAS, R, Python, SQL, Excel, Power BI, Tableau, STATA, SPSS, or similar platforms.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail and data quality.
- Ability to work collaboratively with public health teams, program staff, and external stakeholders while also managing independent assignments.
Note this is a hybrid position starting with 2 weeks in person training full-time, then reverts to a hybrid role.
