Full description

Who we are...

Latitude is a growing Service-Disabled Veteran Owned (SDVOSB) Company within the Federal Sector. We have experience in working with various federal clients across multiple different agencies. We believe in adopting and growing a remote work-from-home culture wherever possible to ensure a healthy work-to-life balance. We believe in automating the mundane and investing in our employees helping them grow their careers over time. We strive for innovation and want to develop solutions that we can take pride in and help break through some of the barriers that exist in technology and the government sectors today.

About the Role

Latitude IT Solutions is seeking a DevSecOps & SRE Technical Director to own the continuous delivery, site reliability, and security automation backbone of a large-scale VA health IT platform. You lead CI/CD pipelines, blue/green and canary deployments, Terraform IaC, policy-as-code guardrails, and the automated compliance controls that enable safe, high-velocity delivery across multiple EKS environments.

What You'll Do

  • Own and operate CI/CD pipelines and blue/green/canary deployment frameworks across Production, Staging, and Sandbox EKS clusters
  • Build and enforce policy-as-code guardrails: automated compliance checks against NIST 800-53, TRM, and VA-specific controls before production deployment
  • Manage Terraform IaC for all VAEC infrastructure provisioning; ensure all changes are code-reviewed and version-controlled
  • Lead SRE functions: define SLIs, track SLOs against PWS SLA tiers, manage error budgets, and own reliability reviews
  • Operate the Istio service mesh: traffic management, mTLS enforcement, and sidecar lifecycle across all EKS namespaces
  • Lead SAST, DAST, container scanning, and Fortify remediation — maintaining ATO with zero unmitigated critical CVEs
  • Maintain the onboarding pipeline: IaC-driven runbook bringing new engineers to readiness within contractual timeframes
  • Support Optional Task surge efforts for DevSecOps/SRE as defined in the Performance Work Statement

What You Bring

  • 8+ years of DevSecOps or SRE experience in federal cloud environments
  • Deep hands-on Kubernetes/EKS at scale with multi-namespace production operations
  • Expert-level Terraform/IaC in AWS GovCloud
  • Blue/green and canary deployment engineering in production federal environments
  • Istio service mesh, mTLS, and service-to-service security in Kubernetes
  • NIST 800-53, VA RMF, and ATO-supporting tooling (SAST, DAST, Fortify, Nessus)
  • Active Dept of Veteran Affairs PIV credentials

Preferred

  • AWS DevOps Engineer Professional certification
  • Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
  • HashiCorp Vault Associate certification
  • VA TASPL / VIP Guide 4.0 experience
  • MSK/Kafka or VistA integration experience
