The Senior Product Analyst supports the ideation and development of new product features, including emphasis on expanding and enhancing our telematics program, with goals of improving pricing, competitive position and ease of doing business for Plymouth Rock’s personal lines products sold in the assigned market(s) for the Direct division. This person extracts data for analysis and implementation of new rating plans, improvements in the telematics program, new underwriting rules, process improvements, and other initiatives to support profitable growth and improve competitive position.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Acts as Product liaison with other departments that interface with the group.
- Support the advancing the personal lines products sold in the Direct division across all regions, including identifying opportunity areas in our pricing, product offering and telematics program and developing product changes to enhance them.
- Support the business to achieve budgeted growth and profitability business results.
- Effectively uses available tools and data systems to analyze business issues and communicates the findings to management.
- Understand predictive modeling and other quantitative concepts; being a resource in interpreting these concepts for business application.
- Understand the competitive, legislative, and regulatory environments to identify trends and opportunities.
- Collaborate with third party vendors to achieve company goals more effectively and cost efficiently.
- Interface with other departments to address their needs as they relate to the product.
- Collaborates with State Management and Information Technology teams to facilitate product and underwriting systems changes.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s degree or higher in quantitative field of study is preferred.
- Ability to utilize quantitative approaches to generate sound business analyses. Identify results out of the norm, draw conclusions and articulate findings.
- Demonstrated problem solving experience gained through related work experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Programming query experience (SQL or related software). Proficient Microsoft Office skills.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently on tasks assigned by the Product Manager.
- Attention to detail.
- 2 or more years in actuarial, or other analytical role.
- 2 or more years of experience with relational database tools and concepts.
- Property and Casualty Insurance experience preferred.
SALARY RANGE
The pay range for this position is $85,000 to $119,000 annually. Actual compensation will vary based on multiple factors, including employee knowledge and experience, role scope, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.
