Embedded Software Engineer

Position Overview

This position supports the Detect Application group within a Fortune 100 client's Robotics division. The Embedded Software Engineer will work as part of an engineering team to design, develop, integrate, and test software features on embedded electronic controls used in safety detect machine applications. The team's mission is to deliver the highest quality DETECT safety technology products and solutions on time and within budget.

Responsibilities

  • Detect feature development using embedded C++, Linux, and GitHub
  • Issue resolution through triage and troubleshooting
  • Participation in an Agile Sprint environment
  • Validation plan development
  • Coordination with a global team of machine, systems, software, and validation teams
  • Ability to work effectively with a culturally diverse work group

Typical Day / Week in the Role

Typical task breakdown includes systems requirements decomposition, design, development, reviews, integration, and test. This role is part of a 12–14 person global team, with regular design reviews and daily stand-ups.

Candidate Requirements

Education & Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field with 6–7 years of relevant experience required OR
  • Master's degree and 5 years of industry experience
