Senior Financial Analyst — Plant Finance (Louisville)
Reports to: Multisite Controller | Location: Louisville Plant (on-site) | Dotted-line partnership: Plant Leadership Team
As a key member of the Finance Team, the Senior Financial Analyst serves as a strategic business partner to plant leadership and corporate finance. This role is responsible for delivering actionable financial insights, developing financial models, analyzing operational performance, forecasting business results, and identifying opportunities to improve profitability, productivity, and cost performance. The role also provides on-site accounting support — journal entry preparation and account reconciliations — to ensure the site has day-to-day accounting continuity between monthly visits from the Multisite Controller. This is primarily an analytical, business-partnering role (~80% of time). A smaller portion (~20%) is dedicated to hands-on accounting support, as described below.

Financial Analysis & Business Insights
- Analyze financial and operational data to identify trends, risks, opportunities, and key performance drivers.
- Develop meaningful financial models and scenario analyses to support strategic and operational decision making.
- Provide data-driven recommendations to improve profitability, productivity, working capital, and overall business performance.
- Conduct variance analysis against budget, forecast, prior year, and operational targets.
- Deliver insights and recommendations to leadership through concise reporting and presentations.
Forecasting, Budgeting & Planning
- Lead monthly forecasting processes by analyzing trends, volume assumptions, cost drivers, and operational metrics.
- Support annual budgeting and long-range planning activities.
- Monitor financial performance and proactively communicate risks and opportunities.
- Assist leadership in evaluating capital investments, cost reduction initiatives, and business improvement projects.
Performance Reporting
- Prepare and publish timely monthly financial and operational reports.
- Develop and maintain KPI dashboards and scorecards.
- Present financial results with clear explanations and recommendations.
- Drive reporting automation and continuous improvement initiatives.
Operational Finance Partnership
- Partner closely with plant leadership, operations, supply chain, and corporate finance teams.
- Analyze manufacturing costs, labor utilization, inventory trends, material usage, and production efficiencies.
- Support productivity, process improvement, and cost-savings initiatives.
Accounting & Close Support
- Prepare and post standard and non-standard journal entries in support of the monthly close process, in accordance with GAAP and company policy.
- Prepare monthly balance sheet account reconciliations for assigned accounts; research and resolve reconciling items timely.
- Escalate unresolved or unusual reconciling items to the Multisite Controller, who retains review and approval authority over journal entries and reconciliations.
- Maintain supporting documentation for close activities in accordance with internal control and audit requirements.
- Serve as the primary on-site accounting resource, coordinating close-cycle deadlines with the Multisite Controller given the Controller's multisite responsibilities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in financial analysis, FP&A, or manufacturing/operational finance.
- Working knowledge of GAAP and hands-on experience with journal entry preparation and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Advanced Excel skills including financial modeling, pivot tables, Power Query, and data analysis.
- Experience with ERP systems and Power BI is preferred.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills; comfortable operating independently on-site with remote leadership.
