Job Description Summary:
The Cloud Architect is responsible for leading the design and evolution of cloud architecture capabilities that enable Coca‑Cola’s digital platforms and products at scale. Reporting to the Senior Director, Global Cloud Platforms, this role translates enterprise cloud strategy into scalable architecture standards, solution patterns, and implementation guidance that accelerate digital delivery and modernization.
This role focuses on ensuring that cloud solutions are secure, resilient, cost‑efficient, and aligned to enterprise architecture, cybersecurity, and data and AI priorities. Operating within a highly matrixed global organization, the Director will collaborate closely with platform engineering, Digital Product teams, Data & AI, and regional technology teams to drive consistent adoption of cloud‑native architectures and modern engineering practices.
The Director will play a critical role in enabling faster time‑to‑market by standardizing architecture approaches, reducing complexity, and guiding the evolution of cloud capabilities that directly support business growth, operational efficiency, and innovation.
Key responsibilities
- Define, maintain, and evolve cloud architecture standards, reference architectures, and reusable solution patterns aligned with enterprise digital and data strategies
- Define integration and interoperability standards across multi-cloud environments, enterprise platforms, and business-critical applications.
- Lead architecture design and oversight for cloud solutions across products and platforms, ensuring scalability, resilience, and security
- Partner with Digital Product and engineering teams to embed cloud‑native architectures including microservices, containers, and API‑first designs
- Drive consistency and reuse by promoting standardized design patterns that accelerate delivery and reduce duplication across global teams
- Guide application and infrastructure modernization initiatives, including migration of legacy systems to cloud‑based architectures
- Collaborate with Data & AI teams to ensure cloud architecture supports advanced analytics, machine learning, and AI workloads
- Advance Zero Trust architecture principles, platform security controls, identity-first design, and secure software supply chain practices.
- Participate in architecture governance forums and review boards, ensuring adherence to enterprise standards and long‑term technology direction
- Influence DevOps, automation, and platform engineering practices to improve developer experience and operational efficiency
- Build and strengthen cloud architecture capability through mentoring, knowledge sharing, and adoption of modern best practices
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field; Master’s degree preferred
- 8+ years of experience in cloud architecture, solution design, or enterprise technology roles
- Proven experience designing and delivering cloud‑based solutions in complex, matrixed environments
- Strong expertise in cloud architecture principles including scalability, resilience, performance, and cost optimization
- Experience designing hybrid and multi-cloud architectures at enterprise scale (SAP Cloud, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform)
- Solid understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks, governance models, and standardization approaches
- Familiarity with Zero Trust frameworks, cloud security posture management (CSPM), and infrastructure-as-code security controls.
- Experience enabling application modernization using cloud‑native technologies such as containers, Kubernetes, and serverless architectures
- Ability to collaborate cross‑functionally and influence stakeholders without direct authority
- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into business‑relevant insights
- Demonstrated digital and data fluency, including familiarity with data platforms, analytics, and AI‑driven workloads
