Overview of the role:

Manage the Credit Control function by overseeing customer collections, receivables, and debt recovery activities to ensure healthy cash flow and effective credit risk management. The role is responsible for managing assigned customer portfolios, monitoring outstanding balances, driving timely collections, and maintaining strong customer relationships while ensuring compliance with company credit policies and procedures. The position plays a key role in optimizing working capital, minimizing overdue receivables and bad debt exposure, improving collection performance, and supporting business operations through effective financial governance and stakeholder collaboration.

What you will do:

  • Manage a portfolio of customer and tenant accounts, proactively driving debt collection activities to minimize overdue receivables and reduce bad debt exposure.
  • Engage with customers through phone, email, and written communication to negotiate payment solutions, resolve outstanding balances, and maintain positive client relationships.
  • Assess customers' financial positions and recommend appropriate collection strategies, payment plans, and recovery actions in line with company policies.
  • Monitor receivables performance, aging reports, Days Receivables Outstanding (DRO), and collection KPIs, identifying risks and implementing actions to improve cash collection.
  • Maintain accurate customer account records, reconciliations, and collection activities within ERP and related systems, ensuring data integrity and compliance with contractual terms.
  • Prepare and analyze credit control reports, customer liabilities, and collection trends to support business decision-making and continuous process improvements.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, Shared Services, Legal, and other business functions to resolve complex collection cases, billing queries, and accounts requiring escalated action.
  • Ensure compliance with credit control policies, standard operating procedures, regulatory requirements, and month-end, quarter-end, and year-end reporting deadlines.
  • Support management by preparing ad hoc reports, conducting customer balance reconciliations, and providing recommendations to strengthen credit control processes and financial governance.
  • Build strong cross-functional relationships while delivering excellent customer service and balancing business objectives with effective debt recovery strategies.

Required Skills to be successful:

  • 3+ years of experience in Credit Control, Accounts Receivable, Finance, or Accounting, with experience managing customer collections, debt recovery, and receivables within a corporate environment.
  • Proven experience in credit control, collections, customer account management, reconciliations, aging analysis, and reducing overdue receivables while maintaining strong customer relationships.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP or Yardi, with the ability to manage financial records, customer accounts, and reporting efficiently.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, large customer portfolios, and meet reporting deadlines.
  • Experience supporting business operations through financial analysis, customer account reviews, billing support, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage effectively with corporate clients, high-net-worth individuals, and internal stakeholders.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including experience managing large datasets, databases, and financial reporting.
