Responsibilities
The Data Engineer – Business Intelligence is responsible for developing and establishing a scalable Business Intelligence capability to support global business growth and decision-making. This role will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines, integration frameworks, and modern data solutions that enable trusted reporting, analytics, and business decision-making. The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise in Azure data services with hands-on experience integrating ERP and CRM platforms.
- Design, develop, and maintain robust data pipelines that integrate data from ERP (BC/ Timeline), Salesforce, and other enterprise applications of existing business units and potential future acquisitions into a centralized Azure data platform.
- Lead data consolidation initiatives to establish a unified and consistent enterprise data model.
- Develop and manage ETL/ELT processes using Azure-native tools and integration technologies.
- Implement scalable data architectures that support both operational reporting and advanced analytics requirements.
- Optimize data ingestion, transformation, and storage processes to ensure performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Improve data quality, governance and reporting processes by establishing consistent data standards.
- Systematically and timely identify data abnormalities and data loading issues
- Global responsibility across all Exaktera business units and sites (Germany, Ireland, UK and USA).
Your Job Profile
Education:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Business Analytics or related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, Data Engineering or related fields.
- Experience working within a global manufacturing, technology or engineering environment preferred.
- Experience developing analytics solutions supporting senior leadership decision-making.
- Experience working with complex datasets and multiple business systems.
- Fluent German and English language skills required.
Technical Skills:
- Strong SQL knowledge and experience with data extraction and transformation.
- Experience with Azure Data Platform or similar systems.
- Experience integrating data from ERP, CRM, HRIS or manufacturing systems.
- Knowledge of Python, R, AI or machine learning techniques desirable.
- Understanding of data governance and data quality principles.
