Job Summary

Synechron is seeking an Automation Test Engineer – Selenium and Java with 5+ years of experience in software automation testing and quality assurance. The role is responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, and executing automated test solutions that support reliable software delivery.

The position contributes to business objectives by improving test coverage, identifying defects early, supporting efficient regression testing, and helping development and QA teams deliver high-quality software within Agile delivery cycles.

Software Requirements

Required

  • Selenium: Proficiency in developing, maintaining, and executing browser-based automated test scripts.
  • Java: Strong experience writing clean, reusable, and maintainable automation code.
  • TestNG: Experience creating and executing automated test suites and test cases.
  • Maven: Experience managing automation project builds and dependencies.
  • Jenkins: Experience executing or supporting automated test pipelines.
  • JIRA: Experience logging, tracking, prioritizing, and monitoring software defects and testing activities.
  • API testing: Practical experience designing and executing API tests.
  • Database testing: Experience validating data, database responses, and application-to-database functionality.
  • Agile methodologies: Knowledge of Agile and Scrum practices, including participation in sprint planning and retrospectives.

Overall Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts using Selenium and Java.
  • Create and maintain reusable automation components, test utilities, and test suites using TestNG and Maven.
  • Perform functional and regression testing to verify that software meets defined requirements.
  • Conduct API testing and database testing as part of comprehensive quality validation.
  • Execute automated tests through appropriate environments and support test execution using Jenkins.
  • Identify, document, track, and follow up on software defects using JIRA.
  • Troubleshoot and debug automation scripts, test failures, and environment-related issues.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field; equivalent practical experience in software testing or quality assurance may be considered.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in automation testing, including prior experience with Selenium and Java.
  • Practical experience with TestNG, Maven, Jenkins, JIRA, API testing, database testing, and Agile delivery practices.
