Data Engineer (Part-Time) / Software Engineer & Data Engineer (Full-Time)

We are looking for a Data Engineer to join our client's Data & Engineering team.

This role is primarily focused on supporting and expanding the organization's data platform, including Databricks, Power BI, and Azure-based data solutions. Depending on the selected engagement model, the position may be structured as either:

• A Part-Time Senior Data Engineer focused exclusively on Data Engineering and Analytics initiatives.

• A Full-Time Senior Data Engineer / Software Engineer capable of contributing to both Data Engineering and Software Development projects across the company's Microsoft technology stack (for an education-related company).

The ideal candidate combines strong data engineering expertise with a business-oriented mindset and a willingness to contribute across multiple technical domains as organizational needs evolve.

Location: 100% ON-SITE from Asuncion, Paraguay. Working hours will be 9 AM - 6 PM Paraguay Time Zone.

Senior Data Engineer (Part-Time)

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes.

• Build and optimize data solutions using Databricks.

• Develop and maintain Power BI reports, dashboards, and datasets.

• Ensure data quality, consistency, and governance across systems.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to define analytics and reporting requirements.

• Monitor and optimize performance of data workflows.

• Support business intelligence and reporting initiatives.

• Identify opportunities to improve automation and data processes.

• Document technical solutions, processes, and best practices.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Warehousing, or Analytics Engineering.

• Strong SQL skills.

• Hands-on experience with Databricks.

• Experience with Azure-based data environments.

• Strong understanding of data modeling and ETL/ELT processes.

• Experience working with large datasets and reporting platforms.
