Embedded Software Test Engineer (C)

Purpose of the role

Develop, implement, and maintain automated testing solutions for embedded software, ensuring product quality through robust test strategies and continuous improvement of testing processes. Collaborate closely with development teams to deliver reliable software solutions within a global, cross-functional environment.

Responsibilities

  • Define, implement, and execute software test strategies, plans, and test scenarios.
  • Develop detailed test specifications in close collaboration with the software development team.
  • Design, develop, and maintain automated software test systems, including both hardware and software components.
  • Drive engineering excellence by improving testing processes, tools, and knowledge sharing across teams.
  • Apply state-of-the-art testing technologies and methodologies to support project objectives.
  • Analyze test results, identify defects, and support troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional, multicultural, and globally distributed teams throughout the software development lifecycle.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or another relevant technical discipline.
  • Several years of experience in embedded software testing.
  • Hands-on experience with testing and programming tools such as LabVIEW, LabVIEW CVI, C, C#, Visual Basic, Python, and SQL databases.
  • Experience with industrial communication protocols such as EtherCAT, Ethernet, DeviceNet, or CC-Link.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills within international teams.
  • Fluent in English; German is considered an advantage.
