CSafe is seeking a versatile Data Engineer to manage data pipelines, Databricks administration, and Power BI reporting across our technology ecosystem. Working closely with Product and Digital Engineering teams, you'll deliver reliable data solutions that improve reporting, analytics, and business decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Data Integration & Engineering
- Design, build, and maintain ETL pipelines that move data between source systems, Azure services, Databricks, and downstream consumers.
- Ensure data is delivered accurately, reliably, and on schedule to support business operations and analytics.
- Integrate data from a variety of sources, including operational databases, APIs, microservices, SaaS platforms, cloud services, and file-based feeds.
- Own and optimize data movement across the CSafe technology landscape.
Databricks Administration
- Administer and maintain the Databricks environment, including:• Unity Catalog governance
- Workspace configuration
- User access and permissions
- Cluster and compute management
- Job orchestration and scheduling
- Cost and performance optimization
- Support platform scalability, security, and operational excellence.
Business Intelligence & Reporting
- Develop and maintain Power BI reports, dashboards, and semantic models.
- Translate business requirements into meaningful, scalable reporting solutions.
- Enable self-service analytics through well-structured data models and reporting assets.
- Partner with business stakeholders to deliver reliable and actionable insights.
Data Quality & Governance
- Monitor pipeline health and data quality.
- Implement validation, logging, monitoring, and alerting processes to proactively identify and resolve issues.
- Establish and maintain documentation, standards, and reusable patterns.
- Support data governance initiatives and ensure alignment with organizational best practices.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner closely with Product and Digital Engineering teams to improve reliability, consistency, and accessibility of data.
- Define and maintain data contracts and integration standards.
- Contribute wherever data expertise is needed, embracing a broad and collaborative approach to problem-solving.
Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Experience
- 3+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Analytics Engineering, or a related role.
- Proven experience building and operating data pipelines within a cloud environment (Azure preferred).
- Hands-on experience with Databricks in a production environment.
- Experience developing Power BI reports, dashboards, and data models.
Technical Skills
- Strong proficiency in SQL and Python for data transformation, automation, and pipeline development.
- Experience integrating data across multiple platforms, including databases, APIs, cloud services, SaaS applications, and file-based systems.
- Working knowledge of:• Azure Data Factory
- Azure Storage
- Azure SQL
- Databricks, Spark, Delta Lake, and Unity Catalog
- Experience with data modeling, data quality, and governance principles.
- Proficiency in Power BI, DAX, and semantic modeling.
Soft Skills
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Self-directed, adaptable, and outcome-oriented.
- Comfortable working across multiple technologies and disciplines.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience administering a Databricks or lakehouse environment.
- Familiarity with cold chain, logistics, manufacturing, or life sciences data.
- Experience establishing enterprise data governance frameworks and best practices.
