As a Junior Data Analyst & Data Operations Specialist, you will join our data operations team in Bergkirchen near Munich, Germany. This role is a strong starting point for someone who wants to build a career in data by learning through real business projects, practical tools and close collaboration with experienced colleagues.

You will work with product, operational and reporting data, supporting data quality, migration, reporting and automation activities. You will gain hands-on experience with Excel, Power BI, SQL, Power Query, Power Automate and AI-assisted productivity tools, with a clear development path toward roles such as Data Analyst, BI Analyst, Data Steward or Data Engineer.

Job Description

Data Quality & Governance

  • Maintain master, product and operational data across business systems, ensuring accuracy, completeness and consistency.
  • Perform data quality checks, identify duplicates, missing values and inconsistencies, and support root-cause analysis.
  • Support data mapping, cleansing, enrichment, bulk updates and migration activities from source review to post-load validation.
  • Document data definitions, validation rules, ownership and process guidelines.

Reporting & Analytics

  • Create and maintain basic reports and dashboards using Excel and Power BI.
  • Analyze datasets to identify trends, anomalies and improvement opportunities.
  • Use formulas, pivot tables, Power Query and basic DAX measures to prepare, summarize and validate data.
  • Provide clear insights, operational metrics and data issue updates to business stakeholders.

Automation & AI Enablement

  • Identify recurring manual data tasks that can be streamlined through Power Automate, Excel automation, templates or improved process design.
  • Support simple automation use cases such as file preparation, validation checks, data refreshes and exception tracking.
  • Use AI-assisted tools responsibly to improve productivity, documentation and data handling while respecting data protection expectations.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Support

  • Work with business, product and IT stakeholders to understand requirements and resolve data issues.
  • Communicate progress, risks and recommendations clearly.
  • Support cross-functional projects involving reporting, integration and data management.

Learning & Professional Development

  • Receive structured onboarding, hands-on coaching and regular feedback to help you grow step by step.
  • Learn how business data is created, maintained, transformed and used across ERP, PIM, CRM, reporting and master data platforms.
  • Build practical skills in SQL, Power BI, Power Query, DAX, data modeling, governance and automation.
  • Take part in training, documentation, knowledge-sharing and real business projects that build confidence and ownership.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, apprenticeship, vocational qualification or comparable practical experience in Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, Business Administration or a related field.
  • Strong interest in data management, analytics, digital tools and business process improvement.
  • Good Excel skills and basic understanding of databases, structured data or reporting concepts; including pivot tables, lookup functions, data validation and structured formulas, initial SQL knowledge is an advantage.
  • Structured, reliable and detail-oriented working style with the ability to follow documented processes quality checks, and reliable approach when working with large datasets.
  • Exposure to Power BI, SQL, Python, Power Automate, Power Query or database concepts through study, internships, working student roles or projects, is an advantage
  • First experience with data, reporting, operations, supply chain, e-commerce, product data or analytics is a plus.
  • Knowledge of ERP, PIM, CRM, data warehouse, reporting or master data systems is beneficial.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking and commitment to data accuracy.
  • Proactive learning mindset, openness to feedback and curiosity about new technologies.
  • Clear communication and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong communication skills in English; German (B1/B2+) is highly desirable for effective collaboration in the local business environment.
