Requirements

Lead the future of Operational Technology

At South West Water, we're investing in the systems and technologies that keep essential water and wastewater services running safely, securely and efficiently for millions of customers.

We're looking for an experienced OT Delivery Manager to lead a team of Operational Technology Engineers responsible for delivering and supporting critical infrastructure across our operational estate. From SCADA and telemetry systems to PLCs, process control and communications technologies, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the resilience and performance of assets that underpin our services and support Critical National Infrastructure.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a technical leader who enjoys combining people management, service delivery, project execution and operational excellence.

What you'll be doing:

As OT Delivery Manager, you'll lead the delivery of Operational Technology services, projects and engineering activities across South West Water's operational environments.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and developing a high-performing team of OT Engineers
  • Ensuring the availability, performance, resilience and security of critical OT systems
  • Managing the delivery of OT projects and technical work programmes
  • Supporting capital investment schemes and operational improvement initiatives
  • Acting as an escalation point for complex technical and operational issues
  • Driving compliance with cyber security, engineering governance and regulatory requirements
  • Supporting CDM compliance and promoting a strong HomeSafe culture
  • Managing suppliers and contractors to ensure safe, high-quality delivery
  • Building strong relationships with operational and project stakeholders
  • Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and operational efficiency

What we're looking for:

You'll be an experienced leader with a background in Operational Technology, industrial automation, engineering or a related technical discipline.

  • Leading and managing technical engineering teams
  • Delivering OT, automation, engineering or infrastructure projects
  • Managing operational support and project delivery priorities simultaneously
  • Working effectively with senior stakeholders and operational teams
  • Contractor and supplier management
  • Risk management, governance and change control
  • Developing and implementing safe systems of work
  • Operating within a regulated or critical operational environment

Essential Qualifications

  • HNC, HND, Level 5 qualification or equivalent experience in Engineering, Automation, Electrical, Instrumentation, Operational Technology or a related discipline
  • Relevant technical apprenticeship, qualification or training
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Security Clearance (SC)

Desirable

  • IOSH, NEBOSH or SMSTS
  • PRINCE2, APM or equivalent project management qualification
  • ITIL Foundation
  • OT Cyber Security certifications
  • ICS, PLC or SCADA vendor certifications
  • Professional engineering body membership
